I ordered a Dell Thunderboltâ„¢ Dock TB16 - 240W on the 23rd April as seen here
As you can still see nearly 3 weeks later it's still available on their site. I also used a coupon code making the final price $123.59. Dell has not created an order number, they have not notified me at all about anything.
Last week I gave them a ring to see what's happening to which they told me there's no stock. (Why didn't they tell me and why is it still available online) then first rep mumbled some words then just hung up on me.
I called back the next day where I brought up the issue again to which they said a manager will call me… still waiting, and they hung up again.
I understand if there's no stock all good, but some communication would be great or a heads up. How can they keep accepting money for a product that doesn't exist? They're basically accepting pre-orders without saying.
Also, them keeping this in limbo and not telling me what happens with my coupon code, do I just lose it because they don't have stock?
UPDATE: Dell Australia finally contacted me and said they would upgrade me for free to the WD19TB. Overall I'm a happy customer after paying $123 for an RRP $492.99 dock.
Ah yes, the famous Dell after-sales service.
The only way you'll likely get a response is to keep calling and asking to be put through to supervisors, managers - i.e. make a real Karen of yourself. Had a colleague recently have to go through this hell for a charger. They're useless.
