Need your suggestions please :
Would like to add 4 LED downlights in lounge room. I have limited knowledge on types of LEDs and which models are efficient.
Please point me which models are reliable and economical.
Also which place or sites to buy ( other than Bunnings :) ) ?

I just recently put in some, I think the main question is do you want them dimmable, because that is where things get a bit tricky.
Assuming you do want dimmable the type of dimmer can effect things and I think the main difference between the cheap ones and more expensive is how low they can dim before flicker.
As far as efficiency, they are LEDs, I don't think there is much difference here, and any variance would be minor compared to say halogen, as long as you get tri-colour with a flex plug. Are they replacing existing lights or new? Either way I would get a sparky to add sockets and get 90mm diameter lights so you can replace them easily.
The other consideration is do you want a wide angle of light which can add more glare or a more narrow beam for more mood lighting, ceiling height impacts this obviously.
If you don't want dimmable and just want utility lighting as long as you get tri-colour flex plugs and 90mm cutout I don't think it would matter a whole lot if you get cheapies.

If you want dimmable mood lighting thats a whole different beast.
If you already have halogen downlights you can get them replaced very cheap.
