Been keeping an eye on Tefal Cuisine Companion for about a year now. Seems like the Good Guys @ $998 was about as cheap as it would go, but now can’t find stock anywhere!
Have since seen between 2017-2019 as low as high $300s and into the $400s on Amazon AU.
Has anyone seen it advertised for under $1000 lately and for those who have/had one, would you buy again?
Two friends gave Thermomix but I’m not spending that Thermomix money. Keen on the Tefal after seeing the reviews but not over $1000.

I bought one about two months ago second hand. There are a couple of Facebook groups you can join which would give you an idea of the types of things people make. People also often post their machine for sale in the group, they go for between 400 & 750 second hand depending on accessories included. There is a guide online which helps you to convert Thermomix recipes which I have been doing, as there aren’t as many CC recipes online. I love the thermomix potato salad and there’s also a nice curry that came out so tender and was so easy. The unit comes with a recipe book and I’ve made some things from there with success. Risotto is so easy and it comes out perfectly. It makes the smoothest mashed potatoes and the best bechamel sauce. I’ve whipped up buttercream icing and melted chocolate in it…. some people poach eggs using silicone egg cups. I’m going to use it to make baby purée and steam clean baby bottles. It’s got us to try different recipes and mix things up a bit. I’m really happy with it, you could use it every day but we don’t. I’d love a second bowl but they are a bit pricey brand new. I paid $450 for the unit secondhand and I’m really happy with it. It has been around for a couple of years now, so I wonder if there are plans for a new model. Hope this helps!
Thanks very much for the details. I think I will get my wife to check out the Fb groups. Though I have several people I know who have the TM I don’t know anyone with the CC, so really appreciate hearing your experience. The diverse options of what it can do is what’s so appealing. The only concern I would have buying second hand is a proof of purchase to provide for any warranty issues as it’s not exactly a cheap item. A new model would make sense as it has proved to be difficult to find anywhere with stock, though that’s potentially more pandemic related than Tefal drying up supply due to a new model or something.
I will keep an eye out for any sales, and if a Fb deal came up it’s worth considering. Thanks again
I had the CC and thermomix TM5. I prefer the TM5, so I gave the CC to my parents.
The CC is a LOT quieter than the thermomix.
I believe Tefal is bringing out the CC similar to the thermomix (scales) so it might bring the original CC prices down.
As for second bowls, there's 2 different versions. One bowl doesn't work in the newer old version or vice versa.
I bought the CC from Amazon for ~$300 when they were having a mothers day sale in 2018.
Yeah it seems if you could get it for under $400 you did very well, it’s currently $1200 + at HN and Appliances online. Hoping to see some sub $900 deals but still a lot more approachable than the TM. Did you find the CC could handle everything as supplied or were any additional bits needed?
I got my tm5 on their 24 month interest free payment plan.
The slicer/grater option for the CC is great, IF you have a large family and will use it often. I would recommend the steamer basket, if you don't currently have a stand alone steamer appliance.
When it comes to chopping vegetables etc, I cut them smaller than usual, so it saves wearing out the motor and blade.
I just managed to find it ‘on sale’ at Myer online for $974 and bought one. The website now says ‘out of stock’…..here’s hoping I get one.
Aaaaaannnd order cancelled! Seems Meyer ran out so back to square one
I have a thing similar to this that the Mrs insisted on buying that has been used about 10 times in 5 years, takes up bench space really well though.
