think these are usually around $800-900
thanks
im still rocking my Fenix 3HR, these things last forever!
Even though I sold my F3 for the F5 plus, I agree. My F3 was a tank! Could seriously injure someone if used as a weapon haha
Gotta give credit to Garmin…
My wife has an old watch (square/rectangular) that she bought 4-5 years ago that is still going strong.
She bought me a VivoActive 3 Music last year and 13-months after the screen went out on it. It was past its one-year warranty (and my wife lost the receipt in any case) but after sending pics and a description they told me to send it in and they would send me a Vivoactive 4 or 4s in the colour of my choice for free (RRP $579 AUD). They've got a customer for life in me now.
Yeah man Garmin CS is really great. I still remember the half price fiesta that they had no obligation to fulfill but did anyways.
That's why I went back to Gamin after my Suunto debacle, their customer service must be one of the worst. After I lost a 100km run due to a software issue they wouldn't acknowledge… Don't get me started 🤬
i was just ignored when the power button caved in on my bike computer (edge 1000). it was a common issue and i just ended up fixing it myself.
i still bought a replacement when they stuffed up that 50% off code, but i still hate garmin (too bad there aren't any reasonable alternatives yet)
but yeah, i hate garmin.
My wahoo is a very reasonable alternative.
Out of curiosity, did you buy the watch on the Garmin website or somewhere else? Mum's FR 645 music is having issues with connectivity and never stays connected for more than a few hours to the point where it just cant be connected anymore. I don't know if I should contact Garmin directly or the retailer
I’ve had issues with the altimeter on my 935. Had it replaced twice. Once with a brand new one and then with a refurbished one (which was spotless). Amazing CS from my experience.
Not a good experience with Garmin CS for me, I called them 2 days after receiving my brand new Fenix 3 because the watch couldn’t not connect via USB to any computer and lap swimming was showing incorrect datas (unlike my Fenix 2). They Only offered to replace it with a refurbished one.
Music?
Light?
Yes
There is no spotify on 5S Sapphire
Correct, you need a 5S Plus for that. Be aware that it does hit battery life pretty hard if used during activities using GPS.
Thanks
Very old watch, there has been two generations since
Whats everyones oppinion on the phone app?
I hd a fitbit and the app worked great, very responsive, loved it.
Tried My wifes Garmin Move HR for about 6 months and I found the App quite , not terrible but not amazing compared to the fitbit one.
Went back to fitbit and now im on Withings.
Whats everyone elses experience on the Garmin apps?
I found it busy. lots to look at. Not intuitive but I was happy to explore it. Tons of data if you're into that sort of thing.
I haven't tried any other ecosystem. But you have tried four now. What's your preference?Having used the Misfit, Withings (pre Nokia) and now Garmin, I like the interface, but more than that, I like not having to fuss with it. It just works.
The fact it integrates well into My Fitness Pal is huge for me, and the passthrough to Google Fit means I can collate all my health data into one 'dashboard'
I'm not using the more specific data sets, such as equipment types etc, so would still be considered a basic user.
Edit: I'm using the Android version, can't speak for the IOS app.
Same as this one isn’t it? https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/garmin-fenix-5s-sapphire-gps… $949 at rebel
JB Hifi were just selling the Fenix 6 and 6S for $599, so not sure why anyone would look at 5S, which is two models behind 6S (5S Plus model splits them)
Just bought the Rose gold for $499 5S for my wife for mothers day. Didnt see the 6S for $595 otherwise would have bought it. I only saw it for $1200.
BTW 5S is awesome so far. 1 run and a long walk and the data it provides is accurate and easy to accessMust be on deal; its 999 now.

Does this have topo maps? - I have trouble working out all the models and feature sets with Garmin.
No topo, need plus or pro for that
As a owner of a 5p and friend of someone who own the 5s, I would say don't buy it. The inferior battery life is significant and you will be charging frequently ( more than weekly if you actually use for tracking exercises).
Once a week charging is really not an issue. I put mine on charge when it gets low while I have a shower and get ready in the morning and have never had any issues with the battery running out.
Really? I have my fenix 5+ and never had issues with battery life even when using it for daily exercise tracking.
I'm talking about the 5s. My 5p last between a week to 9 days, day/night with HR on.
I just meant that, if you don't like to charge frequently, don't get the 5s. My friend top complaint is that (with 3-4 workouts/week). If you don't mind this detail, go for it.
I have just bought the Garmin 935 at rebel on the recent discount… I think it is basically the same watch only with cheaper materials and bigger battery in case of 935. I choose bigger battery over premium materials.
Anyone seen any deals for a forerunner 245? Been waiting for it to drop under $500 on sale to pick one up, been running a lot during quarantine.
Dont forget cashrewards for this at amazon, just got notified its AUD 20.67
Estimated approval: Up to 75 daysOrdered this deal, package arrived yesterday however not this model. Got white on white instead. Contacted customer support, they said they dont have any of these left so sent the white one. I said no thanks, I will wait till these are back in stock, as discontinued no stock further stock coming. Asked for full refund. Now have to wait 28 days for money back.
How much is it normally?
