  • wow, read my mind.. just doing research on this!

  • If it has a mic the bluetooth headphones it should work?

After you pair with your PC, just double check in Teams > Settings > Devices and set your bluetooth headphones as both the Speaker and Microphone.

It doesn't do it automatically with me - had to manually select the device, both in Teams and Skype for business. And sometimes if you unpair and pair again the settings get lost.

I'm currently using my wired apple headphones… seems to give the best quality and I don't have to faff around with settings.

    • Our JBL Tune 600BTNC uses standard Bluetooth protocol for audio communication. Unfortunately, most of our headphones do not support Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other similar services. We do not mention Skype or Microsoft Teams support anywhere in the manuals or tech sheets, and therefore we do not support it, and any malfunction is a consequence of this type of use not being supported. If the product/ headphones support the Bluetooth Profile HSP, most likely other VoIP programs will work. We can, however, never guarantee this

It's just standard bluetooth communications, it's not going to blow up your computer.

Support just means that they have officially tested that device with that application and it is known to work, and manufacturers can put it on their labeling.

As I said before, just double check your Team settings and see if your headphones show up. Test it and if it works, you're all good.

I should also add that the mic quality on most bluetooth headphones are atrocious unless it's built specifically for voice or gaming. Most don't pick up your voice and you will sound very faint to the other person.

Best ones are usually Jabra or Plantronics.

      • Honestly gaming headsets sound a bit funny to me when I've talked to colleagues on those. I didn't appreciate there was such a difference between gaming and non gaming headsets before!

I love the Jabra Evolve 75 headset. Can be had second hand for anywhere from $80-$120… I've ended up buying three pairs for the family/friends. Might be worth looking to see if you can find a pair if you're okay with 'as new' second hand.

    1. Plug in $5 earphone/mic to 3.5mm jack

    2. Done

RIP to those without the plug.

    • NOOOOOO! You can't just use native connections! THIS IS 2020! You gotta use dongles!!!111

  • I use a Plantronics Voyager Focus UC which is wireless. I really like it and works well. Buying the USB wireless headset alone (without the stand which is fine since it charges over Micro USB) is around $200-$250 from memory (or at least it was pre-COVID 19). Headset has noise cancelling and can pair with multiple devices via Bluetooth too (not recommended IMO as the audio quality is a bit iffy with two devices).

i just use my bose qc35 and works fine with Teams. also blocks out outside noise so helps to concentrate.

  • Go for something with mic boom

Most of the earphones that you listed designed mainly for listening to music / videos and have mic added as secondary feature. If you want to read some review go : https://www.scarbir.com/guide/best-cheap-wireless-earbuds-fo…
