People seems to dive into this deal when it's on…. but from my personal experience, it's not worth it.
I had it few weeks ago for a friend's birthday, the service is bad ( need to wait at least 15-20 mins for each course ), the food is below average ( not to mention they didn't serve us sashimi & sorbet as described, I realised when I got home and check the deals again ).
There are plenty of good tepanyaki out there in Sydney, with reasonable price.. Kobe Jones Tepanyaki is just over rated.
I agree with you, I don't mind spending 2 hours for a 3 courses meal…. but the deal was 11 courses degustation, 20 mins wait after each course which took me 3 hours and 30 mins to finish.
I have been to many degustation and normally they brings up the next dish within 5 mins after colleting your previous dish.
It's only $69, so I guess you get what you pay for. To me, the group buy deal isn't always a bargain, especially this one.
I went to a 5 course wine dinner last week. It was 5 hours. I have no complaints however!
I agree with that being said about Kobe Jones in general. I haven't had the voucher but I did go a while ago when they had all-you-can-eat sushi. it was drenched in sauce, which was tasty…but not exactly special. A 3 course dinner generally takes me about 2 hours as you spend the time socialising and taking photos…So i dont think 15-20mins is that bad…but then again that being said, I wouldn't go kobe jones haha
