Hmm.. I haven't played my nintendo ds lite for a while. I know 3DS games don't work with the lite, but what about DSi games?
2 days ago I was thinking of buying the gameboy cartridge for this actual game, since school holidays start this week lol…
DSiWare games can only be downloaded off the DSi (DSiXL) & 3DS's stores.
They have to been stored on the SD card so the old DSes can't do that. For the record though you can play DSi enhanced games.
@Fliedlice The 3DS is a completely new system.
It's like asking if the PS2 plays PS3 games.
He asked about DSi games
And just so you know, some ps3 consoles can play ps2 games
@ Tal_Shiar But he said it's like asking PS2 (console) to play PS3 (games).
Oops, I read it back to front lol
Edit: double post.
Bah *hugs his ds lite* you're still loved. 8(
I suspect this is a ploy to get people to download new firmware…
So it's not just me being cynical who thought that..
Still, free is free. Anyone who needs old firmware probably gets it for free through other means anyway so no harm done.
This was announced way back during E3 so if it was/is a ploy it was sure as hell well planned out in advance. It's purely to celebrate 25 years of Link/Zelda.
I would suggest that Nintendo is a mature enough organization that it could predict when it would need to promote a new Firmware. I don't think they are naive enough to think their console is invulnerable. So there's no guarantee that this isn't part of the plan.
I prefer to think they are just being charitable though.
Oh noes, then people will actually have to pay for games… how rude of Ninty.
Sweet! Thanks for the heads up.
Edit: Spoke a bit soon, thought we could already download it.
:/ Gotta wait until next Wednesday. (Which I suspect is actually Thursday since that's when the eShop seems to update.)This is actually a heavily updated version that features 2 new dungeons, new moves, new AI partner for SP and new wireless multiplayer (local) for MP. Great freebie imo.
sweet. thanks

Yes it is they announced it.
This is free, I've never heard of those games going free but they are all available to buy in the eshop under the VC section.
Those are pricing errors. They were never free, nor ever meant to be free.
I have a DSi, can't seem to find it in the DSiWare shop.
Anyone have any ideas how to download this?
Yes, wait four days, the store updates late thursday afternoon here.
Duh….(slaps own forehead).
Thank BeAkEr…
It's available for me on the 3DS Store, but at a cost. Will have to wait for it to become free!
No, that's Links Awakening DX, if its available to you then you're the only person in the world who it is available to.
Thanks for the heads up, will grab this when it's available.
how do i download it on the DSi? can't seem to find it
Expecting it to appear tmrw, because that's when the eShop updates. Might appear today though.
It is up now, guys!
