[PC] DisplayFusion $24.97, 50% off @ Humble Bundle

390

Display Fusion is 50% off at Humble Bundle. Perfect for those who just purchased an Ultra Wide monitor recently. I bought this for $33 in the last couple of weeks - but no saltiness from me.

I've got it configured on a 49" ultrawide to split the display into 3 virtual screens. There's a thousand options and tweaks in there if you're up to explore them all.

As per Steam description:

DisplayFusion will make your multi-monitor life much easier! With powerful features like Multi-Monitor Taskbars, TitleBar Buttons and fully customizable HotKeys, DisplayFusion will make managing your multiple monitors easy. These features even work when AMD Eyefinity or nVidia Surround are enabled on your system!

Lifetime License
This DisplayFusion license is a lifetime license, you won’t pay anything for any future updates or new major versions. Pay once, and enjoy DisplayFusion forever!

yeah, i paid $22 usd in nov and i'm happy. <$25aud is solid. good find!

  • Hey guys, I’m really interested in getting this. Hoping to find out what people are using this software for, some real life examples would be great. I have 3 screens at the moment and I feel that’s sufficient but this software sounds cool.

    • I have 3 screens too. I use it to split the outer monitors in half they are portrait oriented. On other situations I press a hot key and have a different split configuration.

I use it along with Groupy and works perfect for me.

      Great software I must say

Dave Zhang on Youtubeexplained it pretty well. Like him, I've found myself using powertoys to similar effect nowadays, but DisplayFusion is without a doubt more advanced.

I had three screens and didn’t need it. Went to a single ultra wide and was really missing the window management from 3 seperate screens.

I’ve got my screen split into 1536 pixel wide left segment, 1536 pixel wide right segment and a 2048 pixel centre section. Gives me a focus zone in the middle and two reference screens. You can always move windows around as necessary but was display fusion makes a single screen bearable.

When you maximise a window in any section, it only maximises to that section rather than across the whole width of the monitor.

I used to use DisplayFusion for this purpose too, but with my CHG90 32:9, I ended up moving to Microsoft Powertoys Fancyzones. It's free, integrates well into the OS and is much simpler/lighter than DF was.

    • One of my favourite custom/hotkey function is "Highlight Window". You can set a temporary custom colour border around any window - which is great if you have multiple apps of same type open (Excel sheets, Visual Studio etc).

Why don't you use Fancyzones that is part of the MS Powertoys.

    • Yeah, FancyZones works well and has been improving.

Looks like a great deal for DisplayFusion regardless of that.

And there are other features that it has, which FancyZones does not have.

    • Tried it, along with 10 other apps. None of them made the single screen work the way 3 individual screens worked for me.

Either any window moved between virtual screens would maximise. Or you couldn’t drag already maximised windows before un-maximising them first. Everyone has their own workflow but this app bridged the gap for me

I have three screens and use this software to combine them into a "single" display for ultrawide gaming. This also gives me a taskbar on each screen, window snapping, etc. You can still open/drag windows to the separate monitors in this configuration.

This website suggests it has been MUCH lower in the past though …

Does this work without steam running?

    • +1

      Yes

  • I found it causes your system to become unstable when running for days at a time.

    • my pc at work has been up since i bought it a few weeks back, no dramas at all for me

    • What are your specs?

      • High spec development machine. I made use of the window management functions to add additional icons to each titlebar (always on top, etc). It may have be down to remote desktop sessions and high DPI switching that caused the issues. Since removing it i haven't experienced random slowdowns or explorer crashing.

        • Thank you for the insight!

        • The window management was always a little funky due to the ads on nature but agreed it does help with workflow. I’m debating if I want to go back to using DF (over fancy zones) because I forgot that I missed hide extra buttons.

Also caused issues on my PC, mid-low end gaming build. Only wanted it for monitor presets so disabled every other feature and haven't had issues since!

  • Great piece of software
