  • Bit of a shame it's only on the higher tier plans…

    • doesn't the referral code work for the lower speed plans?

    • Issue with my folks… Put in a queue placed 32. I opt for callback.. Still waiting after 1.3hrs.

They've done $20 off multiple times before. I'm on that now. Their low speed plans are terrible value until $20 off, I only get 30mbps down so dunno if their high speed plans are bad value too or not.

Will be churning away from them. $$$ and no customer service.

Rubbish customer service. They don't reply to emails, and wait times are often over 1 hour on the phone, and I've personally waited over two hours.

You don't need crap service like this, just go with another provider

Because you seem hell bent on posting on every SL deal, I'll happily post another side of the story on each one too!

Not at all downplaying the situation you experienced with SL, but I personally have had replies to emails, never had to wait over 15 minutes on the phone and have always had any issues resolved promptly without issue with SL.

They're my third ISP since being connected to NBN for almost 3 years now and between SL, AussieBB and iiNet they are by and far the best Customer Service I've had to deal with. Obviously everyone will have a different experience, but I couldn't be happier with SL.

Likewise, although in fairness I've never needed technical support (just a couple of billing enquiries).

        • +1

          same here they are great.

      • I do vaguely agree with the negative sentiment though other providers seem to put a premium on a good customer experience however there is some arrogance with Superloop along the lines of technically we are awesome, take it or leave it. They really don't seem to care too much if you leave or not.

That doesn't sit well with everybody.

Isn't that funny, I had an outage a few weeks ago, so did friends and neighbours. 5 of us called their respective ISP (since it was an obvious NBN issue). I got mine was all done and logged in under 10mins (including usually recycle modem, replug in cables, blah, blah, troubleshooting, the ), next was ABB with 15mins, TPG 35, iinet 40, Optus 45mins.

It depends on luck sometimes, I'd never go back to ABB as Inhad issues getting through in under an hour, the hopeless level of support, the multiple f'ups and the refusal even contemplate that they screwed up, closed my complaints (including the billing screw ups which kept happening)….then only after 3mths they finally admitted to multiple f'ups and said oops our bad. And i still had to oush to get the over charges refunded.

Yet others swear by their their support.

But let's get down to network. ABB probably have the best network in Oz, Superloop probably have the best international network in Oz. There's not a lot between them in Oz, but Superloop has a much better international network (since they have a share in cables & lota of bandwidth).

Personally, i just wanted a 100/40 solid network internationally, static ip for a reasonable price (they gave me a sticky ip for free). If I have problems or questions, I get even pop onto Whirlpool and have a chat directly with some of their techies (which is how I got my sticky ip).

Likewise, I moved to SL from iiNet and it all went pretty smoothly. The only issue I had was the internal wiring in my house limited us to the 25/5 plan - I had purchased the 100/20 but within the first week after not getting me the advertised speeds refunded me the pro rata difference without a fuss. Their technical support in arranging NBN follow up was prompt and kept informed throughout the whole process with SMS. If you do some research into the company background, they are a solid diversified company that is publicly listed and have assets outside of just being an ISP which makes me feel a little more at ease with their capacity.

My family's place uses ABB and can't say there was any issues with the connection and speeds, only it's more expensive than SL due to sign on bonuses.

    • If they're slow, what speeds do you get on another ISP? I find 8t difficult ro believe you got much better.

      • +1

Sorry I thought it was clear but it is not - my house/wiring limits me to this speed. So I am using superloop's 25mbps plan. What I am saying is the price of their slow plans is $$$ and I cannot comment on the price of their faster plans as I have no interest in fast plans.

I moved to SL from Optus few months back. Can’t comment on the customer service as I never had to test it. However excellent speed all the time even though I’m on HFC. My biggest complaint is that I think they throttle downloads. I never get to complete anything like Xbox update/game or anything more than 1 or 2gbs. Stops the download. When I check the broadband speed via speed.net that shows 46+Mbps, even the download says connection issues. As soon as I connect with mobile, it finishes the download. So I used VPN and tested the download which continued smoothly. Anyone else got the same??

      • Hey Rimus - can you confirm what modem were you given when connecting to Optus NSN services on HFC?

        • Sorry mate, didn’t see your message. It was Sagemcom F@ST 3864V3 AC. But I plugged that only to establish the connection, then my own ASUS RT-AC68U.

Whereas a referral can give you the same benefits, with less restrictions. Plus discount for the referrer.

  • +2

great they have finally got a program to benefit members in this way, sadly I've missed quite a few as I've always recommended friends use the $20 discount for 6 months over paying full price and I got the bonus

    • +3

That is why I developed the new referral program :)
gives something to both people! the new, (who is always the winner) and the existing (who misses out a lot)

      • Does the $10 off stack with the referral system?

      • Does the $10 off stack with the referral system?

  • Who is considered as new customer? What if i left them 2 months ago? can i signup again and get this offer?

    • 6 months new customer.

  • Can we use both a referrer code and this code to get $20 off per month?
I recall that previously it was $20 off per month.

  • Does it stack with the referral system?

  • I tried to go to Superloop, but cannot find a place to enter the promotion code?
I can see the 'referer code'. For 100/20 the price is 89.95, and the screen asked me to enter my particulars.

How can I use the promotion code and referral discount?
    Thanks
