Just renewed my comprehensive car insurance (pay as you drive) and was pleased to save $80 (compared to the renewal quote from our current insurer Woolies which is still with Hollard insurer) and should get $50 voucher after 45 days from commencement of the policy. The $50 also applies to combined Kogan Home and Contents Insurance, and combined Landlords Building & Contents.

~Up to 10% discount consists of 5% saving for online purchases, applicable first year only. Up to 5% off if you choose to exclude drivers under 25. New policies only. Minimum premiums may reduce savings discount.
+$50 Kogan.com Credit offer (“Offer”): Valid for Kogan Comprehensive Car Insurance, Kogan Pay As You Drive Car Insurance, combined Kogan Home and Contents Insurance, and combined Landlords Building & Contents Insurance. The Offer is valid for new Relevant Policies (not renewal or reinstatement policies). Kogan.com reserves the right to amend, extend or withdraw this Offer at any time. The $50 Kogan.com credit (“Credit”) will be sent to the e-mail address of eligible policyholders after 45 days from the commencement date of the Relevant Policy, provided the annual premium or the first instalment premium for the Relevant Policy has been paid in full. Code CARX03 still works for a $100 wish gift card at Woolworths insurance so they might be more expensive but the $100 GC might make up for it

    • Unfortunately we are with Woolworths so we can’t reuse (it’s for new subscribers I believe).
If you are new to woolies it works out even cheaper, as they apply heaps of discounts.

      • you can cancel and sign up again.
changing few details help too like total km driven

        • Anyone know how long until you get the GC though? If its only after 3 months not sure if worth it.

          • @SanAndreas23: 2 months is the ideal time. my gc never past two month period. I think its time to follow up on gift card if its been three months

        • Good point, however if they refuse the gc it would make it more expensive for me. I’ll leave things as they are, but thanks for the input.
Kind of stupid that woolies makes the policy $100 more expensive if renewing

Just gave Woolies a go. Only $450 more expensive then my RACV renewal and they only do 2 year new car replacement as oppose to 3 at RACV

  • still on the coles price lock deal from years ago. $180yr for fully comp

I moved away from coles after having to make a claim. They were useless to deal with. Junkie had broken into my car, stolen a few things. Coles Insurance told me to claim my prescription sunglasses off my health insurance instead.

Absolutely useless. Took forever and a day to get anything out of them. Service, money, etc.
What seemed to do the trick was me asking for a copy of all recorded calls so i could properly transcribe them and put them on a website "MyExperienceWithColesInsurance.com".

While it may save $50… never again. If it's managed by Insurance Australia Group… I stay away.

      • damn, terrible experience, sorry to hear

    • Wow that’s well cheap

I have to wonder if Kogan insurance can be trusted. The Kogan store has for years been denying warranties, telling people that some products are sold from Hong Kong and don't come under Australian Consumer Guarantees, or like they did to me, denying to repair/replace 1 month out of warranty (but well within consumer guarantees). The recent price-jacking of $200 products to $1000+ and general creepiness of Ruslan Kogan is something that you may find out when it's time to make a claim.

I have a feeling that when a thread asking about a car accident comes up, we should add the Kogan insurance into the same basket as not being insured.

Their Customer service never existed so why on earth they have car insurance. So whom do you call during incident? lol

The insurance is via Hollard which is the same as Woolworths and real insurance, so I can’t see how it would be different
