Would be a good compromise (despite the case diameter) for those who don't want to pay top-dollar for the SARB033

    • This also has Sapphire Crystal compared with other Presage with Hardlex

    • doesn't have the water resistance of the SARB, but if it has the same bracelet as the cocktail time models (it looks like it), it should be solid end links. if it's a true "multi-link" bracelet even better. might also have the engraved crown that the sarb and the cocktail times have. could be good value for money, can't find detailed specs or photos though unfortunately so it will be a punt for buyers.

    • I wanted a sarb033 and ended up settling for a SARV003 when I was in Japan and I'm still tempted to buy a sarb all the newer models are bigger and only use a 4R movement

Just get it and don't look back, the 38mm diameter and flush design is timeless - it's the perfect size for a dress watch.

        • Your not making this any easier aha I'm highly considering it

            @ArchieD: Here's my advice:

            1. Go through Cashrewards to get your 5.30% cashback on the SARB033, bringing the price down to $588.46
            2. Sell your SARV003 on AWBSS, or your watch-equivalent community site to clawback your funds on the above purchase. If it's a JDM model, it could be sold for anywhere starting from $300, upwards

            Hope that helps!

I would get the sarb. I bought the white dial version of the watch in this post (SRPC79J1) and whilst I love it (I do not love the bracelet though, I put it on a blue leather strap instead), I still couldn't let go of the sarb033 and ended up buying one. Let me tell you, pictures don't do it justice. Seiko absolutely nailed it with that watch. I don't think I'll ever be getting rid of it

    I want the SRPE19J for $349

    • Same

      • Is the SRPE19 pretty much the SRPB43 with bracelet? Any other differences?

Have a look at the SRPB77 here and here - the blue hands really stand out. US market only though.

    • It was $340 a few weeks ago, the green and the white version.

      • I know, but must have only had one or two in stock. I want the light blue/silver one.

        • +1

when i said white i meant the bluey one you were talking about, sucks that they ran out, that was a crazy price for them.

      • Thanks that is pretty good, might grab it

A bit big for dressy watch, but a good deal, especially for a SS bracelet.

  • Oh goddamnit I just bought a watch last week. That is an obscene price too, I've liked this watch since they announced it.

    • Can never have too much time ;)

Not really comparing Apples to Apples here are we?

      • -3

Not a apple for apple comparison, in regards to value for money?

        • +4

These watches aren't even in the same category and that watch you linked is almost twice the price and you want to compare value for money?

  • Bloody hell I just bought that Citizen Eco-Drive but this looks like an incredible deal for the money too…

EDIT - just noticed seiko makes this in a white face with blue dials which looks much nicer, but isnt on special…i might hold out to see if that one goes on special one day instead.

    • Yep, that's the one I've been holding out for.

White faces with blue dials are just m'wah

      • +3

You mean hands? Faces and dials are the same haha

        • Lol oops, yes i do haha

  • FYI expiry on the SRPC81J should be 10am tomorrow (06/05/2020 09:59:59) as it is the deal of the day. The others are part of the 2 day boorbuster deals and should expire thursday midday (07/05/2020 11:59:59). I'd add a note to the SRPC81J, and add the later expiry to the deal.

  • Is this the lowest price it's been?

Those who haven't decided to let this deal go, please don't open this link for better resolution images. You will end up buying. It is a beautiful watch.

      effing hell!! there goes moolah!

  • +3

Just not sure about the pattern on the dial for this one, would need to see it in person first

    • I agree. Or is it just a pretext to hold for the Padi samurai to go on sale… Price dropped a bit since last week but waiting for something like this deal

  • Do these have good resale value? (Assuming used & good condition)

    • +3

Nope. Not a huge demand for them on the market. More for someone who wants to wear it.

    • +1

Agree with above, wouldn't really even consider resale value unless I'm spending thousands on a watch.

    • True thanks fellas,

Still thinking it over, as you can't try on the watch then return it next thing i was thinking was selling it if i didn't like it.

    • +7

I'd rather a decent Seiko mechanism over a cheap Tissot one (which is all you're getting on a $350 automatic Tissot, assuming one even exists…)

    • +1

      $350 gets you a Tissot with a Quartz movement…

      • Funnily enough, the watch that kick-started my collection was a sub-$300 Tissot quartz. Prior to owning it, I always thought that people were crazy to spend more than a few hundred dollars on a watch, but fast forward several years later and here I am looking at Speedy and Subs…

    • You have no idea.

  • Aaaaand it's gone. :)

  • Are the watches sold through Starbuy Grey Market.

    • +1

Local Stock I believe (at least with Seiko), all come with 3 Year Seiko Australia Warranty and 1 Year International. StarBuy are based in Sydney.

    • +3

Starbuy is an authorised dealer (and a fantastic one I might add). They're super friendly and they usually have the best price around. If you see something at a physical shop, check on Starbuy to compare their pricing (obviously if the same model was available as well).

  • anyone got this delivered? my tracking number ain't coming up on the Aus post tracking website…. Got an email from starbuy it's been dispatched…

    • +1

They send express and are based in Sydney, you should have received it next day. I ordered the SRPE19J and it arrived next day, very fast and efficient service and loving the watch. Maybe contact Australia Post?

    • I placed an order Tuesday 28/04 evening and it arrived Thursday 30/04 morning in Mel. Shoot the Star Jewels OB Rep a DM, they are very helpful

  • +2

Just for anyone who's a noob like me…

The pins come out with little collars,
Don't lose these as you'll need to them to put the pins back in, which is a pia in it self :P

    • Good tip. Took me two hours of stuffing around trying to work that out and size the bracelet!! Sooo frustrating, but actually quite simple once you figure out how to get them back in.

    • My 5KX only had the push pins with no collars although its an "oyster" bracelet, and the drilled lugs makes swapping straps so much easier.

    • Same for the samurais made in china (bought the STO) which is weird cause the orange samurai with movement made in Japan (but assembled in Malaysia) has "normal" pins.

  • Don't suppose anyone bought this and decided they didn't want it/ didn't like it? (hint, hint…)
