I bloody paid 98 at GAME - know their a rip off but used the 55% trade bonus :( - def need to see if they price match. Seems all new games are gonna come out cheap at the big general retailers - will be great if they do!

Great buy, i pre-ordered from eb games.This catalogue comes out in a few days. when it does i will take it to eb and price match. :)
EB will price match the game but you won't get all the EB pre-order bonuses. I tried this last year and unless the deal is exactly the same they wont price match it.
i dont think it's worth it. a tiny ball, case and some online stuff for extra $50 ($110). It might be worth it for COD.
BTW if people haven't already I highly recommend downloading the demo. i'm getting it for 360 but actually the same on PC and console for first time and importantly on PC you can play 6 minute halves. So if u have a wired 360 controller enjoy!!

There is a much better weight to the ball making passing, crossing and most importantly shooting oh so enjoyable. The new defending is hard to get used to and you definitely have to practice to get good - personally i use the jockey more than the contain.
Graphics have been improved and so has AI on all difficulties. Barca on legendary plays exactly like them although the others arent so close to life. Also Fifa is lacking once again in team mate AI and they rarely make runs forward/support your attack. Seems like pro player intelligence really only plays a part for the AI.
Nevertheless its a great game and I can't wait to get the full game :D

ah the sly dogs. They do have 7 day return for game rewaRDS members (free). only prob is they refund using same method as purchase - ie if used store credit u get store credit back. Still i'd rather have $98 for a year at game (max payne 3) and just buy fifa for 69

As a guy who's had every FIFA since 02, I hope more people buy PES this year. At least they try and improve their game. EA seem to purposely take features out of the game then promise to release a fix to these problems in the next installment with a flashy "NEW" sign next to them. They've totally run out of ideas now and just ruined the defending aspect of the game. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for this game.
To be honest the defending is better even though harder to master. Previously it was very easy to defend expertly and the abuse of the homing missile defense made it near impossible to play proper build up play.
This is the biggest improvement in the series (assuming the physics glitches and hopefully AI are fixed) ever (can i just say career looks worth playing now).
Hopefully they improve their servers even more to make it possible to play a lag free match with international players and most importantly from an online aspect have dedicated lobbies for manual players and not just leaderboards. Also increasing the bonus/penalty for playing with weaker/stronger teams and also playing without assists is much needed.
And the only thing i wish they'd add back in from previous games is the indoor soccer mode or at least make fifa street a part of the whole fifa package.
Can you explain how the defending has improved? The controls are horrible (although I played the demo on PS3 instead of my usual 360 which I'm used to). I had never seen a single online opponent jockey the ball, something I utilised to my advantage. Now they try and force you to jockey, which I wouldn't mind as much if the containing actually closes down space, and your teammates can actually tackle when containing.
I get that they are trying to make changes, and possibly add to the difficulty (defending was way too easy in FIFA 10), but if it's taking away from the realism and not making the game more fun, what is the point? My teammate AI is just useless when containing the ball now, they don't try and complete the tackle even when the ball is between their legs.
I can't wait to see all the glitches in this years FIFA. They aren't even glitches anymore. We can't even trust EA to have proper player growth, it will probably be considered a new feature if it's included. What happened to the "realistic transfers" implemented in FIFA 09? The first transfer window of FIFA 10 had Pato moving to Bayern Munich for $56 million and Ibrahimovic moving to Barca for even more.
I'm just sick of buying the same (or worse) game every year just because my team has a new kit and some new players. For once I'm going to try PES and support Konami whether it's a bad game or not.

The deal is not that great compare to the "free when trade in 3 games" at JB HI FI. You can basically buy three game for $60 then trade them straight back to them to get the game for free. I did this, even got the free 18 gold pack for ultimate team. Seriously i think ultimate team is the main reason most people would buy a new fifa game nowaday.
which games did you trade in. i assume most on their stock would be on the exclusion list?

Yesterday, I also saw $69 on Harvey Norman website for pre order for PS3 or X360 and somehow it isn't there anymore.

It's great and very deep. Sad i can't play at my normal level though. Dropped down to World Class and even changed back to semi assisted and still lost 3 in a row in career mode :P
My only complaint is the fact that fifa along with many other games today (namely the battlefields) are optimised for large flat screen TVs. My eyes are completely shot trying to read stats, etc on my old CRT :( Tempted to get connection for xbox to my monitor because on a good screen it looks fantastic
Hopefully there'll be many good TV deals around late november so i dont blow my eyes on fifa (and even worse skyrim :S)
JB Hifi are doing it for $79 (both PS3 and XBox360). They will price match to DSE and have lots in stock (in Brisbane CBD at least). Alternatively, trade 3 games (not on the excluded list) in and get it for free. I don't know what the exclusion list is but I traded in FIFA11, Street Fighter IV and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to get it.
you lucked out because both street fighter 4 and Pro Evo 08 are on the exclusion list. And usually they are damn tight about following the list!
