Concrete Floor Preparation, How to Fill Only Low Patches?

We have grinded all high spots but there are still low spots in the concrete. Not quite sure which products to use just for patches with out needing to do a flood level through whole house.

Any tips appreciated.

You should let the cement dry before working on the concrete slab. Then patch the concrete with cement.

Can highly recommend Dunlop Ardit, high quality consistent mix, easy to work with and dries up perfectly.
Though, the price is pretty high, but if you are not stingy, it's worth it.

From my experience avoid Davco brand Ardit - horrible, uneven mix which basically looks like sand just thrown into some concrete dust. Avoid!

With the Dunlop Ardit would this be suitable to fill a few low spots or do I need to put it over the entire floor? Thanks

        • Yep thats what its for, I use lanko 133 as you can easily feather it out to 0mm thick so you're just filling the lows. Ardit is very similar.

The low spots are your level. Grind everything down to that if possible. Or if the concrete isnt visible use the leveling product above

    • We grinded down the highs but there are still low spots around 6mm deep..

  • We grinded down

    We ground down…

  • 6mm, just use ardit a flood about 7mm through the entire floor. Grind/polish back 0.5mm to end up with a smooth surface.

If you don't want to polish before you lay, you could use an underlay material but that would cost more.

Tape the edges before you flood with ardit. Tape so you know what would be your finish height.

  • There are trades that can do this for you if you want a professional job, just google 'floor levelling'.

It's not that easy just to throw some Ardit down.

  • Thanks for the info. Ive bought a bag of ardit and was recommended to use bondcrete as a primer. See how I go with it all…
