Harvey Norman Online - No Delivery and Not Responding

Just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue with Harvey Norman Online.

Placed an order over a week ago - it still has not been shipped.

As they are not taking phone calls, i have messaged via facebook, whatsapp, and have even emailed - but have had no response (completely ignored)

Anyone else run into this issue and had any success getting in contact?

      Yes it is unfortunately, and i also used gift cards to pay for about half - so it's not as simple as just doing a chargeback

    Harvey Norman online are notorious for this complete disregard of customer issues going on the many complaints and poor reviews posted online.

    As you've used up all your available options your next step is to contact Consumer Affairs and lodge a complaint.

    • Thanks, i had messaged that number before but tried again and finally got a reply - apparently it should be shipped within 3-5 days now. I very much doubt that though - just passing the buck.

  • This is unfortunately completely Harvey Normal, in my experience.

    I ordered online, they had my money for well over a month (pre-Covid), no email, no update, no nothing. So I rang up & asked where my order was & I got “that’s a discontinued item & we have no stock available” - even though the web site still showed in stock till that day, go figure. No apology or anything, no sorry for the inconvenience - I’m like “why haven’t you organised a refund if you couldn’t fulfil the order. And get back “would you like me to organise a refund”…

    That’s happened to me twice, can’t say I’ve been impressed.

    I would try the chat feature via their website if your having difficulty getting someone on the phone. Good luck

    • Thanks, i have tried the chat feature, as well as messenger and whatsapp. Finally got a reply by whatsapp after messaging them again - apparently it should be shipped within 3-5 days now. I very much doubt that though - just passing the buck.

  • Ordered something a month ago. No update on anything. Tired their live chat, no response for hours (was studying while having chat up).

    Tried the number in my email receipt, nothing.

    Just went straight to PayPal for a dispute for my refund.

    F*** Harvey Norman and his shit stores.

  • Yeah, I had two orders in the past with Harvey Norman cancelled without being notified, and then had to chase them up to start the refund process. Strangely enough every time I tried to order a deal with HN which they retroactively claimed was a “price error”, their online team was on it straight away; cancellling the order and notifying me straight away. I wonder why it is that the HN team only seem to action cancellations promptly when it would cause HN to lose money?

    Another reason to steer clear from Hardly Normal
    Unless you can go into the store and grab the product you want straight away,
    it must be a good idea to steer clear of them. I have only been to Hardly Normal once,
    and that was what I could gather after buying a bed and bedding.
    I should have just bought the bed there and went downstairs to Spotlight and got my manchester from there; we live and learn

  • Just an update incase anyone else is in the same situation:
    Now 2 weeks since i originally placed the order.
    I finally managed to speak to someone by calling the Head Office directly.
    This was last friday, they put in a request with the "Dropship Team" to check on my order and i would most definitely hear back Monday.
    Diddnt hear anything monday, have called every day since to be told they will get back to me ASAP and i never hear a word from them.

    They have offered to refund but then i would be stuck with some Gift Cards, which i only received for this purchase and have no use for otherwise.

    So frustrating! Can't decide what to do.
