They can hold a large phone with some sturdiness?
Worth a try. Works for me but I’m only using an iPhone 7 Plus.
The pop socket ones seem to be popular and you get the advantage of having something to hold on to when not in the mount.
I personally use a quadlock because they're the most sturdy I've seen in a long while. I have a window mount in my car, a handlebar mount on my motorcycle and planning on getting a few more for my other bikes as well as a stem mount for my bicycle
The sprung double jaw grip type with windshield suction mount. Fits any sized phone
Here is one for just $4.39 delivered

I use a ram mount on my motorbike and am happy with its strength. I feel like it’d stand out from the dash too much,
I've got a quadlock and iphone 8+. Got the windscreen suction and glue tab options for different cars and can recommend the quality. Been using them for about 3 years and nothing has failed on their system.
I don’t think mum wants to spend that much. She’d also prefer to keep the phone covers she has in circulation, so long as that choice doesn’t sacrifice staying on ability 😉
Yeah, once you go quadlock you have to go all in. Our whole family is in on it (all cars, phones etc). I only did this after getting sick of the phone falling off and out of other systems.
Hard to go wrong for $4, air vent design. I have similar ones from AliExpress.
