Purchasing a Woolworths Gift Card using Prepaid Online Visa?

I participated in the Ben and Jerrys promotion last year where I got a prepaid virtual Visa. Yes it was a drama. I then used this prepaid Visa to purchase a Woolworths gift card online. Thankfully that part worked.

I have then participated in an Ethical Nutrients promotion and have got another prepaid Virtual Visa. I am trying to do the same and purchase a Woolworths gift card online using the prepaid Visa online. It keeps saying that "sorry cannot process it at this time"

I have tried it at least 10 times and over a month. I contacted the promotional company, they sent me a new Visa number incase it was faulty. Unfortunately no change, still the same result. I then contacted Woolworths gift cards, they said they have no issues? I even tried to use the Cashrewards and shopback links. Still no joy.

Has anyone else had an issue with paying for Woolworths gift cards using online Prepaid Visa cards? Has something changed recently? Any ideas what the issue is? Too hard to spend exactly $20 as other retailers won't accept it online as a part payment. Help appreciated

    JB Hifi will, you can buy a $20 egift card

    But in reality, why not just use it at Woolworths in person…? 5% bonus value on $20 isn't worth that amount of pus and pain.

    Wow can I use it in person? I thought virtual ones can only be used online as I don't have a plastic card? Pus and pain is right!

    I recently (3-6 days ago???) bought a woolies egift card (through cashrewards link) using a Vanilla Visa Gift Card, which I assume is just a non-reloadable prepaid visa card.
    Took me 2 days to receive the egift card but everything worked out well in the end.

      VISA
      Vanilla OK
      Only1 OK
      Everywhere OK

      MasterCard
      Coles failed sometime last year

      I think issuers can block some merchants at their discretion, e.g. Only1 VISA blocked ATO before, not sure about now.

    Try Adding it into PayPal and buy a $20 giftcard from PayPal Gifts with no discount, but wipe the full balance out.

    I had similar issue with Woolworths gift card site. After talking to their customer service executive I found out that since I used many different cards over period of times they need to clear those old cards from my account. Which they did and after few hours it worked.

    I am not sure if you got the same issue but worth asking them to delete all old card information your account might have linked with.
