No doubt OzBargain is part of this vanguard. :)
Retailers should pay attention to this research:
Mr Ewing says even though the figures show Australians are enthusiastic embracers of online buying, traditional retailers need not worry.
"One of the things that did interest us is that despite the fact that retailers are greatly concerned about people using them as shopfronts for other people's online stores - going in and trying stuff on and then going and buying it online - actually the reverse is more likely to happen for the consumer," he said.
"Consumers are still more likely to use the Internet as a research tool and then when it comes time to purchase, go to a bricks and mortar store and do it."
Interesting, the people who research online might search for reviews and buyers experiences of products, though to actually compare costs and then buy at a bricks and mortar store after finding that online the prices are usually far more competitive, I wonder how much this actually happens, as opposed to trying in a store, then buying online. I'd say not very often in reality.
