  • me too. was probably in the first 50 people to put an order through last night. I selected click & collect, and ebay says my order is 'being prepared' and should be ready by today. credit card charge still on pending.

  • +7

Given the frequency of these 'mistakes', there may be a strong case for ACCC to investigate. I will also report this if it does not get fulfilled.

  • +1

They just put this up their website:

    https://thegoodguys.sirv.com/Content/2020FY/Apologies/20wk44…

On Page 7 of the current Mother’s Day Digital Catalogue, the Google Nest Hub Max – Charcoal (model: GA00639-AU) & Chalk (model: GA00426-AU)
    have been advertised in error.
They have been removed from advertisement in the catalogue. However, are available to purchase at $299ea.
The Good Guys would like to apologise to our valued customers for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    • +2

They're not apologising to OzBargainers, only their 'valued customers'.

    • +3

How could such a thing go unnoticed? Its on print/catelogue, eBay, TGG website and google ads. And some did manage to get it from what I can see in the comments. Something smells fishy here, a new marketing tactic? And this is a repeat "error". This needs to be looked into.

      • Well, they got a bunch of new emails for their mailing list for almost free…

    • +1

They should value customers time as well instead of saying sorry only

  • Might be worth checking your spam email folder, I found my cancellation email there just now :(

    • can you pls post the email statement? (remove any personal info)

  • unlikely that any of our orders will be fulfilled then. yet, still no cancellation email from them.

paid via Amex and want a refund ASAP.

    • My AMEX was refused so I switched to my VISA, now I am screwed. Should have known the deal is bad when they refused my AMEX.

      • I payed by AMEX via paypal

    • My order details have now disappeared from TGG's website so looks like the order is cancelled even though I haven't received any email or call.

  • Just rang my local store. Got 3 passed around to 3 different people and no answers

Edit: they rang back. Refund within 3 to 5 business days and $20 voucher

    • min spend for voucher ?

      • of course.

      • None.

  • +2

they called me and sounded like robots reading off an apology script lol

and refund will be processed within 3-5 business days.

(paid using PayPal and hoping they will get charged merchant fees for refunding transactions after 30/04)

    • +1

Unbelievable for those who managed to pick up

      • I did 1 ebay with the pizza code and then another ebay without the code (as i had used it up)

    • Seems like Queenslanders get all the luck? ;-)

      • Not sure i just got a email saying its ready to pick up

    • +1

Tried to pick mine up in store but didn't have any luck, but just got my OW delivery, so damn quick!

      • I went up to counter and had no issues or questions, i had two separate click and collects as made the 2 orders about 30 mins apart

        • Yeah seems like it really depends on the store.. Great that you managed to pick them up, hope you enjoy using it :)

        • I went up to counter and had no issues or questions

so you got a pickup email?

Mine are still sitting in limbo…

          • @jv: yea i got a pick up email about 8am one from goodguys and one from ebay saying ready to pick up. I didnt go pick up till about 11am tho

  • +1

I picked mine up about 30 mins ago. No issue they just handed them over.

    • -1

      them ?

      • Bought 2 to replace my smaller ones

        • Seems like most of the people reporting that they got the deal are from Queensland, lucky buggers ;-) Anyone that got theirs from other states?

          • +1

@Buy2Much: Yep Vic here and got it this morning.

  • +2

Anyone has screengrabs of their previous "price errors?". Need them to submit to ACCC.

  • Was it a pricing error, or just sold more then they had in stock?

    • Pricing error

  • Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought once money has changed hands i.e. your cards been charged it becomes a legally binding sale and therefore can’t be backed out of?

    • Legally *blinding

    • +1

      You'd think so…

    • :D

    • It's in their T&Cs and not against consumer law as far as I am aware.

    • +1

Nope read up on consumer law and price errors

  • +1

One thing I don't get is if it's genuinely a pricing error and they actually put out an apology note, then why is the catalogue with the wrong price still on their website? They should have pulled the catalogue with the wrong price off their website when they put up the apology note. Shows how much they care and how incompetent they are. As of right now you can't search for them on their website but if you look at their digital catalogue it's still there at $129.

They actually said in the apology note "They have been removed from advertisement in the catalogue. However, are available to purchase at $299ea." But that's not the case. You could still see them advertised at $129 on their digital catalogue.

  • Check your emails guys, mine just got cancelled due to 'incorrect pricing', will find out more tomorrow and post

  • I called the store and they said my order had been cancelled and they won't fulfil my order, the money I paid will be refunded in the next few days.

  • Just got the pricing error email. Refund in a few days and a voucher attached for $20. All in all, worth the hassle I guess lol.

      Just got the same.

      • me too

    • Me too.
That's a reasonable way for them to manage it I guess.

    • +2

$20 Store credit that expires in 10 days? It's an insult, not an apology!

      • i totally agree with that they want us to spend in next 10 days… but cant complain as i see it as a free $$$ though i would be now hesitant to shop at GG anytime in future

  • Just received my cancellation email with a $20 store credit offer.

  • Just received the cancel email. Can confirm we receive a $20 gift voucher than expires on the 10/5. States no minimum spend which is a nice suprise!

  • I got the apology email and the $20 credit. The way I see it is, I didn't lose any money but made $20 profit from this transaction :)

  • Got same email a minute ago, must have been batch job, to stop the influx of -ve feedbacks I guess. Am wondering the people who bought 6 or multiples, do they get 6 lots of $20?

  • Just received my cancellation email with a $20 store credit offer.
No minimum spend so that's not bad.

  • Not bad, $20 credit. I wonder if the codes are unique… hMmMm?

  • Think OW will still bite if you go in store with a screen grab?

    • Doubt it. When it's this low, they'll independently verify it or at least get you to refresh the browser.

  • +1

I got a voicemail this morning saying it was an error and would be cancelled.

Then at 1:20pm, I got an email with an Aust Post tracking number (only "Shipping information received by Australia Post")

Just now, the email with apology and $20 credit.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the tracking number..

  • what to buy with 20? no minimum spend I guess?

    • +1

See if they can sell you the Max for $250, then use the credit. Someone further up this post said their TGG store offered to sell for $250.

    • +8

Buy a wooden spoon from their store and shove it up their ar*e!!

  • $20 credit but expires by 10 May… 🤔

    • +1

It's still generous. My last $20 credit expired in 3 days with $250 min spend.
