Mobile Suggestion Under $200 Or $150

I have always been using mobiles that came with the plan from telcos. Now that I need a second mobile for work and there are so many around -Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, Nokia, … I'm lost. So please give me some recommendation of under 150 and under 200 categories. I need to get the phone quick so something like 1 month shipping is out. Thks

Alcatel 3. You won't find anything else at around this price and mostly everything else is sold out. Samsung is hard to find, almost impossible.

The Alcatel 3 has an awesome screen compared to the other Alcatel Pixi phones. I can't comment on the 1S or 1X which are cheaper.

    • Agree that the Alcatel 1S or 3 are probably some of the better options available for your budget.

Avoid the 1X as it has a quad core processor while the 1S and 3 are both equipped with an octacore processor.

Deals on them can be found here:

  • My head is exploding looking on eBay, so many Chinese phones.
Maybe this Umidigi within my budget

    • Umidigi's products usually have great hardware but abysmal when it comes to software. Doesn't look too bad for the price though.

  • I found this https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/xiaomi-redmi-8-4gb…
Xiaomi sounds more trustworthy than no names like Umidigi?

    • Same Snapdragon 439 as the Alcatel 3, 1 more GB of RAM with more storage (expandable using MicroSD for both devices). Lack band 28 for 700MHz for 4G in Australia though.

      • What does that band 28 - 700MHz mean?

        • 700MHz (Band 28) is a 4G band used by Telstra, Optus and Vodafone. While all three networks also operate other frequencies, Telstra is now moving their 4G coverage mostly to 700MHz as the other frequencies are re-allocated to 5G usage.

          • @systema: I have already bought the Redmi 8. Does that mean it might not be usable with Telstra?

            • @nickbose: Yeah, in the future the higher MHz bands will be refarmed to 5G. It will ultimately affect usability in the long term.

On another note: the Alcatel 3 has gone back up to $264.13 on Amazon. Outside of your range, if you managed to somehow cancel the redmi order. I think you'll just need to stick with what you bought. It's hard to find a phone these days. I don't think you'll find anything cheap.
