Samsung Q95T 65' TV for $3k or The LG C9 65' around Similar Price?

Planning to buy a TV to replace my 6 year old $800 TV, so you can see I don't know much about TVs.

A few things I plan to do:
-Console gaming with my PS4 and PS5 when that's out.
-Movie watching a lot.
-Future proof for the next 5 years.
-Potentially use as PC monitor on rare occasions.
-Don't watch FTA or much sports.

Which would be the better choice? If there's any other suggestion around the 3K mark, more than happy to hear it.
Thanks in advance.

  • Will you spend more time on movies or gaming?

    • Probably 50/50

      • Go the LG OLED in that case.

Picture quality will be great for movies.

Gaming will look great too but there is a chance of burn-in. That won't happen for at least 3 years and by the time it does and gets bad enough to be annoying, you'll be ready to upgrade.

  • for night use oled can't be beat. for day time in a sun lit room lcd may suit better.

  • I bought a Samsung q60t 75 inch qled from jb e few weeks ago for $2400 delivered. Was ticketed at $3500. Games and movies have never looked so good in 4K. I can highly recommend it. It's the 2019 model but it also has 200hz refresh, whereas the 2020 model only has 100hz.

  • would like to know where you think you will get either for those prices. and to be that guy 65' is 65 feet … 65" is inches…although when you look around people seem to say it like you did more often than not. after all that its about use case and priority.. brightish rooms and daytime light the brightness of the lcd is better ..but in dark environments the oled is unquestionably superior in most respects. burn in is a factor but they seem to be improving their firmware to reduce but not totally remove the risk. your judgement about whether you and other users are potentially going to put yourself in danger of it.
