Hi, guys.
Pretty sure everyone knows how bad the base PS4 wifi is. I've been able to live with for a while but decided to invest into something before I break another controller. I used a powerline adapter before, but since I had to move the PS4 and TV to the garage, the adapter no longer works. I can't really run a LAN cable since the garage is detached, and it'll be a big hassle to make it look clean and out of the way. I feel like my main option consists of using an adapter which connects to my 5ghz wifi and outputs that via LAN to the PS4. Tried searching online, but it seems the options are very limited. Has anyone tried something similar, if so what are the recommendations?

Considering going mesh route. $69 for 2-Pack MW3 from PCByte. Seems more viable and doesn't reduce the speed.
Go for it. Mesh is a better and more reliable solution.
Get outdoor internet cable and run it overhead.
There's a few things that would work for you. The closest to what you're asking for is a wifi extender. Something that you put half way between your router and the ps4, that picks up the signal, and then 'boosts' it so the ps4 can pick it up. Thing is most of them are 2.4ghz. You can still get 5ghz ones, but they are more $$$
Option 2 is to have a router that acts as a 'Wifi Bridge'. It will pick up the wifi signal and output it to the ps4 via ethernet (LAN)
Option 3, probably the best and easiest, is to get a powerline network adapter. this here is $30. Probably the cheapest quickest best option you'll find
Option 4, stop using 5ghz. Its only meant for short distances.Can get some Point-to-point Wifi modules. Ubiquiti makes some cool gear. Otherwise, TP-Link has some pretty affordable stuff (https://www.mwave.com.au/product/tplink-cpe510-5ghz-300mbps-…)
I’m using Vonets VAP11G WiFi with my LG home theater. Getting download speeds over 20Mbps, enough for Netflix HD. Reading their website their newer model like VAP11AC supports 5Ghz. It’s powered by USB.
