Care to suggest what you like better? I love this stuff

        • -5

I can, Buy meat like eye fillet that you dont slow cook and use and french sauce, Last time i checked shit meat with cheap sauce out of a bottle is for those that cant cook!!! I use sauce in a bottle but its to add to sauce not the sauce!!! Soy,tomato and sugar, yeah great sauce:) oh and bourbon blown over it!!!

Dunno why the down votes, you gave an opinion to a question.

I bought some to try a few weeks back, didn't impress me at all either.

Very much normal tomato sauce with a little bit pepper taste imo.

      • The original one is pretty boring imo. Try hickory bourbon.

      • +2

Agreed. Got the Hickory Bourbon and Original. HB is something a bit different, nice for a change but wouldn't want it too often. The original is ok, but quite bland imo. I've been reaching for the Aldi spicy BBQ sauce over Stubbs recently.

The Hickory Bourbon Bbq Sauce is tasty!

      • Thanks maybe I'll pick that up then. Doin both ribs and bacon.

        • +1

I really like them but Hickory is my fav.

        • great on Ribs!

        • hmm fire up a smoker, and then get hickory bbq sauce because ……didn’t get enough smoke from the smoker ?

but then they so sell liquid smoke in a bottle.

          • @garage sale: Sauce to brush on at the end for 5 mins.

Normally don't add sauce but wanted to try it lol.

@Slippery Fish: i do the franklin thing …..apple juice in spray bottle and periodically spare the meat …you can also add tobacco sauce to the mixture, or sriracha and stuff.

only time i tend to reach for bbq sauce is when doing pulled pork or brisket on brioche buns.

      • What does the hickory bourbon taste like?

        • +3

          Hickory and Bourbon.

    • Very good. Probably the best I've had. Try the whiskey one.

Warning: not affiliated with Richard Stubbs.

Half a bottle of this on a brisket in the Slow cooker is the best

    • in a slow cooker is where these sauces really work ….get the smoke bbq flavour without the outdoor bbq and smoke.

    • I tend to chuck the brisket in the smoker, and when it stalls, put it in a foil pan with some beef stock liquid. After 2hrs, chuck half a bottle of this and a dash of chilli sauce and let it come up to temp for another 3hrs, and then turn it into pulled beef.

      Absolutely amazing :)

Best BBQ sauce range on the market. Very good price.

    • better than sweet baby rays?

      • I have SBR's sauces which, while still good, are really sweet and just don't go with everything. They're full of corn syrup so I find myself using them less these days.
I love the Stubbs Smokey Mesquite (sadly not on sale) but the Hickory Bourbon is good too.
One thing in the SBR's favour is the squeezy bottle, the Stubbs glass bottles aren't as convenient when used for a side condiment.

        • I love SBR but never bothered reading the ingredients, you've ruined my life. Jokes aside, I had Stubbs once a long time ago, like someone said, I think I found it very boring, not much going on. Maybe I'll give it another chance.

    even stubbs is a robot

  • Best bbq sauce to try, i thought I hated BBQ sauce until I tried this

  • The stubbs cooking sauces are great. Usually at speciality stores, or wholesalers.

I just laid full price for this the other day 😡

    • +4

Laying full price for anything can hurt for sure.

  • The normal sauce is pretty standard. May go with the Bourbon one as suggested.

  • 1/2 price is low risk if it doesn’t work for you ….

  • how can cooking with this bbq sauce in crockpot?

  • Very keen to try this in my new slow cooker! Though I am concerned as to how the ingredients specify "Contains Less Than 0.5% of Onion"…

  • Anyone used 1 on a brisket??

  • Bought all three to try, original is pretty meh.. Sticky Sweet is a favourite with the kids and hickory one is not too bad. IMHO the Bulls-Eye brand ones are much better.

  • Spicy version is quite nice

I've tried the bourbon sauce. Very slight bourbon flavour. It's perfectly fine, but no way is the usual $6 price tag justified.

  • Very good bbq sauce range out of any that you can get at your local grocery store. Did a rack of pork ribs on the Weber low and slow and basted at the end with the sticky sweet one, epic. Then did a Pork butt for pulled pork this weekend on the kettle and basted with the original at the end, also epic. Am yet to try the spicy one but really want to. I’ll be stocking up and that’s someone who owns 3 bbqs. Sure there are better bbq sauces out there but generally cost a lot more as they’re imported from the states, and Of course make your own if you have time, but these are very good when looking for convenience and a good price.

Wow that sounds awesome! I also have a Weber kettle and looking to do some smoking on it. Where do you buy your Ribs and meat from? Normal supermarkets usually don't sell these types of cuts.

      • +1

Lots of quality butchers here in Brisbane sell them. Otherwise Costco has excellent ribs and meat in general!
