Feel like you’re back in 2005 with this Konka Flip phone. Feel like a boss slamming your phone shut during a heated phone call. Give it to your technophobe parent, kids or keep it as a spare in your car. It is unlocked and should work with all carriers. I know these work well on Telstra/Aldi/Boost.

My mum had one of these a while back and the build quality isn't too bad. The flip mechanism is a little bit fragile, so please keep that in mind. Note, the buttons on the front (apart from the SOS button), don't do anything at all, so they're completely pointless.

    Mobile Network

    3G HSDPA+GSM

This is a doorstop isnt it?

GSM part is. HSDPA is still very much functional.

      • The Vodafone prepaid SIM I bought earlier this year no longer supports 3G network. As a result, it didn't work on my good old Sony Xperia M. I didn't realize it until informed by Vodafone customer service.
I guess it won't work with this phone either.

Vodafone does support 3G, I'm running Vodafone SIM in ancient Nexus 4 which never had any working 4G. What actually happened is that both Telstra and Vodafone repurposed HSDPA 2100MHz band to 4G but HSDPA 900Mhz (850MHz for Telstra) band is still running and working just fine. So if your Experia M does not have 900MHz HSDPA band that would explain why you can't use it.

            @[Deactivated]: Thanks for the clarification.
            It turns out that mine is a C1904 model, which supports HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100, but not 900.

You can get a Pocket FM Radio, MP3 Player, 3G phone from HN for $9 (Telstra locked)

    • …and "Comes with $10 call credit for national calls and text, as well as 50MB data for added convenience", however, it probably only has 850MHz (B5) 3G, so even unlocked, will not work with Vodafone or Optus.

    • My work have got a bunch of these phones. I gotta say the keypad on these phone suck. I don't even have big hands and they are just awful to type on. The predecessor of this phone (ZTE Cruise) was much better.

Also, you only get like 43MB of space which is like eight mp3 with mediocre quality.

Not sure how anyone can go back to these phones. Google Maps/Navigation changed the industry.

Generally, the phones with the SOS buttons outside are for the older generations. Like this phone, they tend to have large buttons for easy viewing and pressing, louder speakers etc… things that make it easier for the older folks. The battery on these phones are fantastic.

    • I agree. I didn't set up the SOS feature on my mums phone but it a great phone for the older folks. My mum is in her mid's 60's and she is technology illiterate and English is not her first language. This phone was perfect for her when she had it. Sadly the display started acting up. Now she is using a Nokia 2720 Fold 4G.

  • No stock anywhere except Warilla, NSW.

Been watching Better Called Saul lately and always want to try to break a burner phone in half after making a sidious call.

This will be a perfect candidate.
