How much are they normally?
About $4 for 10
you are thinking of the crappy masks people use for diy jobs e.g sanding, etc. that bunnings sell as their cheap line.
proper masks that fit aren’t cheap, we got them at work when bushfire smoke was noticeable near some of our work sites.
the made in china isn’t the issue, your mobile phone is probably made in china, its finding a reliable source, and chemist warehouse probably do more checks than an ebay seller on the products they sell that are claimed to be of a standard.
No, I'm not thinking of anything of the sort.
It was more or less a joke, referencing how current prices (for ppe) are inflated.
I never spoke of China, I'd rather not. I became aware of a mask producer in Victoria this week, unfortunately they are only supplying the Govt at present. But then again, I don't always trust the media and what they report.
And do we know where they're made?
Appears to be in china according to this mob's pics
So essentially re-exported?
KN95 is China's "equivalent" of P2/N95
I might get a pack for the shite pandemic deals businesses are posting trying to capitalise.
Also, for those actually interested, here is a description at another supplier & it doesn't require you to exfoliate… https://www.blossomcostumes.com.au/10pcs-kn95-face-mask-with…
Would not buy this kn95 crap. Millions of Chinese masks have been found to be defective.
E.g. https://nypost.com/2020/04/24/canada-rejects-one-million-non…

Not sure why you got negged - made in China is a valid concern
All I'm trying to say is low quality/fake masks are flooding the market and I would not support buying masks from China.
Apparently, this company only started trading this yr…

Up to you if you think it's a bargain!
Mask manufacturers have popped up to capitalise on our misfortune. Don't support this practice.
My friend in Jakarta knows a guy that imported fake handbags from China to sell in Jakarta.. That Chinese handbag factory has now started making face masks.. It's one thing to buy a fake LV bag, & another to trust your health with a dubious mask..
Also there’s a lot of left over from wuhan that they tried to offload it elsewhere for profit, read this, in this instance the offer to supply our local medical dept was rejected by Australian government.
Seriously, I would be cautious buying any mask from china from now on, apart from unreliable quality issues, who knows where it could come from?
Did you read the smh article you linked jackfruit? The Aus gov rejected the shipment because they don't want to purchase thru a middleman and not because of defect or perceived lack of quality. They eventually purchased thru a trusted supplier in China (who would have guessed?!).
@assailantsky: Yes I did, Australian government purchased through trusted supplier, meaning legit medical supplier. Lately, the market is flooded with questionable quality masks and sanitiser from questionable supplier.
@[Deactivated]: "A major Australian company paid for masks in a 90-tonne cargo flight from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicentre of the coronavirus, and then tried to offload them to the Australian government for a profit.
The large Australian supplier's offer was rejected after it sourced the medical supplies from Wuhan after the crisis had largely passed there earlier this month."
Perhaps the major Australian company was Chemist Warehouse.. jk. But would be very interested to know what company it was.
At the same time, they (Chinese) have made 100s of millions of quality masks to protect healthcare workers around the world. To neg because they are made in China is a bit rich…
Re KN95, it is an equivalent (without quotation marks) standard to n95 and p2. Different countries have their own standards but they are mostly harmonized and not significantly different to each other in key specifications. You should neg if you doubt they meet the kn95 standard, not because they are kn95. If they are genuine kn95, they offer equivalent protection for BFE and fluid protection, and particle filtration.
No valve so gets hot .
Winter is coming.
If these are real KN95s, they should be as good as N95s, according to this CNN story about a doctor paying 5 times more for them and FBI trying to redirect them.
Negging because not available in WA. Yeah it is advertised on a website, but not a bargain and not available
Go to Bunnings and buy a 3m N95 mask for $6 it is $2 more, but the quality would be better.
Dont see bunnings selling any of those 3m n95 masks anymore, not even on the website nor in-stores. Though, last i saw was indeed $54.95 for 10pcs with cool flow.
Bunnings at some N95 3m Cool Flow this evening when I went. It was $30 for a pack of 5 ($6 per mask) few boxes where available still.
Looking at some sold ebay listing the same pack sold for between $70 and $100.
Hi Unknown User74,
I have been chasing some of these N95 3m Cool Flow masks from all Bunnings in Brisbane without success. (3 of our family of 5 are immuno compromised) I would be happy to pay for your time and petrol etc and of course cost and postage if you were able to buy me a box or 2.Thanks for considering.
@dkg22: If you have friends in Victoria, they might be able to sent some Masks up to you. Bunnings Mentone had a few boxes but it was limited to 1 per person.
Stupid people don't wear masks weeks before, now concern about the mask is China made. Why not learn from Trump, don't wear masks and get Coronavirus for free, that is Ozbargain spirit!!!
For those who already have a mask or two just "run them into the ground".
Unless you're a medico or someone with long continual usage, the whole "x-hours" usage thing is purely manufacturers legal-mumbo-jumbo.
https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/washing-masks-effective-…
Unfortunately I did wash one of mine but luckily still had spares back from the bushfire days.
Please leave these for the healthcare workers and those in close contact with the sick. They are not required for the general community.
When was the last time you saw an RPA employee buy masks over the counter?
Drs and nurses are indeed using their own PPE. They're only being issued masks if they're doing a procedure, not if they're doing general ward rounds and consulting patients. There just isn't enough to go around at the moment.
So to reduce risk for themselves and their families having to work in high risk environments, they're even using home made masks and shields.
At which hospital are these doctors and nurses using homemade or using over the counter PPE?
@whooah1979: I'm not going to try and convince you the shortage is real and when you go to a hospital or private practice, there is a damn good chance that the medico is looking out for themselves buying their own PPE.
I have also been a part of a group making & donating hundreds of face shields for medicos. And I know of drs buying face shields (at what seems to be near cost) from Facebook groups where others are making them.
just inject some disinfection
1) disinfectant kills corona virus in one minute.
2) inject disinfectant to people with corona virus.
3) ????
4) profit
What could go wrong?
Kn95 not n95 , and saw this at local expensive chemist selling 2 for $4.95 or 10 for $25 , which means chemist warehouse is price gouging !!
From the page. LOL.
