Easiest Entry Level Roles to Get into Right Now

I'm thinking of a career change given there is no word on when my current employer will reopen.

I was working as a Marketing Assistant but open to anything and everything.

What's are the easiest jobs to get right now? Outside of working at a super market (the obvious one). Open minded about anything.

True, there was some pretty blatant finger pointing. I know people stranded overseas (India) and it's pretty crap how little the Aus gov has even pretended to do.

About a week after issuing 'do not travel' advice, Scotty was avoiding repatriation of stranded citizens by talking about the months of covid news, and the numbers of people who had left in the previous week. Conveniently ignoring the fact that he had been talking about going to the footy about a week before that, and that people were already starting to have trouble returning home.

It's absurd that there have been private citizens doing a better job arranging charter flights on commercial aircraft out of India, while the government has been sitting on their hands, pretending to be angry about how entitled people are for being overseas in the first place.

You got Down voted like mad but no one provided any evidence for so called chinese influence over WHO. Just because Trump deflected blame on china and WHO to mask his own incompetence.

          I agree with you totally

Nursing is not an entry level job. Enrolled nurses need 2 years at TAFE and registered nurses need 3 years at uni.

Specialisation, such as intensive care or operating theatre nurse or psychiatric nurse or oncology/perfusion, need 2 years of on-the-job training often with an additional degree.

Also there is vendor certification for certain equipment (things that beep a lot).

Customer Service/Contact Centre roles seem to still be advertising heavily.

    • Oh really? Which industries.
I wonder how they would train you up during working from home.

      • Honestly, I can't think of anyone who would go from a marketing position to a call centre.

It's the other way around. At least it was for me.

      • Online course facilitators do most of their training online. It's going to be their medium of communication, so they need to be familiar with navigating the system and using the various tools.

There is a free disability course being offered online now apparently with with a guaranteed interview.

    Maybe courier drivers?

    • Food delivery, low outlay. Just need a peddle bike.

  • Health field, especially aged care. They need admin as well as direct health workers.

    • +1

Yup. Im hiring as we speak.

      • May I ask where? I'm admin/finance/health and need something new

    • Sure, but at entry level? People need to do some formal training for these roles, unless they can get RPL.

      • For direct aged care work it's a Cert3 which can be knocked over fairly quickly and cheaply. You don't even need that to be a cleaner.

Admin skills are transferable between industries

  • Army

    • ADF recruitment applicant numbers always soar when unemployment rises… not that there’s an increased number of positions

  • North Korean dictator?

    • shu that my job once kim gone

Learn to code. Seriously if you're sitting at home with nothing to do, you can learn it all online.

    • LOL it is actually hard for some people to take simple instructions. I learnt how to macro program which is 1% of my profession who have.

    Bee Keeper

  • Number of call centres (like Telstra) are hiring

  • Marketing Assistant. This role is the first to be cut in any organisation during downturns…

It's good that you are looking elsewhere.

  • Home tutor for school children/relief for parents.

Dog walker for all the dogs bought or adopted during lockdown, left at home after people go back to work externally.

  • Uber driver :^)
