Well if you're like me, and wanted to give it a download to see if it lives up to your memories of it, (which it did not) the ability to refund with Steam is handy.

        • I put so many hours into nwn. But i won't touch this.. I know the gane wasn't that great. What I really enjoyed was the character creation then eventually kitting yourself out in crazy equipment

          • @justtoreply: Yeah me too man, though I mainly played multiplayer. Surprisingly there's still a few Australian servers kicking around, but I loaded it up, thought "I don't have time for this", and I refunded. :p

Plus there's definitely a thing where old games look especially bad on current displays, regardless of the upped resolutions. Something about the shitty CRT monitors made things look better somehow at the time. Hard to explain.

            • @matictac: Well, they didn't put any effort into the textures on this. It's not a serious re-release imho (probably too risky to do better, sales likely low)

Upscaling isn't great as much as a necessary evil. Going further back, CRT tvs made n64 way better because it blurred the crappy textures. For consoles you can do framemeister though

              • @justtoreply: Hopefully Baldur's Gate 3 might be able to scratch the itch.

    • But DLCs are cheaper on Fanatical. Slightly, but overall you save a couple of bucks.

Forts is a great party game if you have a few friends, made in Brisbane too.

    • Windows only, unfortunately.

  • Also good for nerdy kids.
