Could you imagine the uproar if someone advertised condoms with AIDS as the promo code?

  • WHO says you need a minimum of 70% to make sanitiser effective.

    • +1

      FTFY

WHO says you need a minimum of 70% to make increase the sanitiser effective efficiency.

You can use, 30% alcohol, or even no alcohol, you just need to rub more to break down the virus. The pretty much concensus worldwide is 60%-80% as the most efficient.

    https://www.tga.gov.au/hand-sanitisers-and-covid-19

    1) This product very clearly claims to be 'hospital grade' thus according to the above is not being advertised as as 'cosmetics'
    2) Such products require evaluation from the TGA
    3) Specificed hand sanitisers were excepted from TGA evaluation IF:
"EITHER ethanol 80% v/v (pharmacopoeial grade or food standard grade) OR isopropyl alcohol 75% v/v (pharmacopoeial grade) in an aqueous solution;"

Thus - to me - all this looks like is profiteering and misinformation based on consumer panic in a pandemic … or much worse if not in accordance with the TGA guidelines.

  • Some metho and dish washing liquid as the surfactant is a pretty cheap sanitiser
