50% off Scheduled Servicing for Health Workers @ Hyundai

1200

A bulletin was released recently to Hyundai dealerships detailing this offer. The offer is nationwide and not just limited to Essendon Hyundai. Their Facebook post is merely an example. I cannot link to the bulletin itself as it is dealer eyes only.

We want to give something back to the many workers across the country who are at the front line of the battle against the COVID-19 Pandemic!
This offer is for Hyundai owners working in Health Care - Doctors, nurses, receptionists, mental health professionals and the like.

If this is you, you're entitled to 50% OFF ANY SCHEDULED SERVICE conducted on a Hyundai vehicle at Essendon Hyundai!
Includes all parts, labour and fluids as listed in the schedule.

To ensure that this offer is for Healthcare Workers only, when booking, all we ask is that you provide proof of sector employment to our service department. This can be via a name badge, business card or email signature.

Thought most doctors drive euros anyway, so perhaps this is for the i30 driving nurses.

    • Quite a lot of GPs in my area actually drive Santa Fe Highlanders on the daily and save the AMG for the weekends. But yes a lot of nurses.

i'm a hcw. actually i have outright ignored the restaurant promotions for healthcare workers and paid for my food at full price. i think the staff know my occupation but we both kept quiet. i just dont need it. i would rather keep these small business afloat and keep their staff on payroll. No point "enjoying" the promotions at someone else's expense.

i would happily ruthlessly squeeze Maccas or KFC dry if they ever run promotions for hcw. (that is if i want to eat their food)

by the way the number of my shifts have been reduced from 8-9 per fortnight to 5-6 per fortnight. Casual staff are surviving but not getting rich anytime soon.

such promotions are just pathetic gimmicks to draw in people who still have a payslip and then try to upsell a new vehicle and a car loan to them. come on Hyundai, we know you still rip us off if we do our servicing with you.

please use your funds to donate food to the local charities or use your fleet for charities to deliver food. Or give the charities or the jobless discounted servicing and refrain from jacking up prices for parts. We HCWs will love you more if you do that. One of the nurses might buy a i30 or i20 from you and not another boring Corolla from Toyota.

i drive a honda jazz and do my own maintenance, because i hate Honda dealer's pricing. The local Honda dealer is dodgy. They stated on my partner's service statements for her Honda Accord's brake pads: 15% left in June 2018, and 60% left in Oct 2019. she didn't change her brake pads during this period.

    Mate, does brake pads GROW?

i don't represent the hcws. that's just my choices. end of my 2-cent rant.

      👍

Yep, and if these businesses want to help others, they should focus on people that really need help right now that are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table.

      • businesses want to attract people who can PAY!

the rest.. please wait till you can PAY!

businesses want to attract people who can PAY!

Oh, excuse me for thinking they wanted to "give something back…"

OK, then why not open the offer to toilet paper manufacturing executives and corporate bankers?

          • @jv: since when they drive Hyundai?? please dont insult them!

This post show how little some people are in their minds.
Envying the goodwill of one company to give health care worker small discount?
they often don't have the PPE, nor shield in front of them, spending MORE minutes with possible carriers then checkout person.
I know it is a bit of marketing to look good, but is it worth almost protesting about how unfair it is?
    C'mon.
