I was looking for a plan for my brother and found this deal.
Virgin had 20% or 25% off access fee a week or two ago, I think that was for 10 months, so this is practically the same deal however now going until 19th October.
There doesn't seem to be any exclusions on the cost of the plan, the only exclusions from the deal appear to be iPhones and prepaid.
Surely if it was a suburb-level issue then the problem was with optus?
most likely, but you can't call Optus support when you're a Virgin customer…
anyway, Virgin kept denying there were any problems in the area and kept telling me to try a different phone, different sim etc. etc. etc. when I knew it was exactly the same places, every day, for weeks… and it worked fine elsewhere…
it's not the first time either, 18 months back they had no access to the google domain, so google, and the maps app didn't work for a few weeks either… they denied for up to a week there was a problem, until the story hit the news papers, then they fixed it…
Weird, my missus has been with Virgin for almost 4 years and never had a problem.
She also keeps entering those competitions for a month's free access and has won 4 or 5 times.
I figure it's optus coverage with cheaper prices.
Although I suppose everyone's happy to have no customer service when the don't need it. Then you need it and wish you'd paid that little bit more for it.

some of the nrma vodafone ones last year was great!
They used to offer 3 months free. Decreases are bad.
Give us the other half month back or get lost virgin!
make sure you read all problems with Virgin Mobile on whirlpool before you buy…
i was left without data access for 3 weeks before a Rep called me to apologies that they found the problem, after denying there was a problem for the whole time… it was affecting at least 3 suburbs !!!
