Is this, or any, USB mic, worth it in terms of recording quality or vocals? Or should I invest in a AT2020/better condenser mic?

When I bought my first decent microphone it was an at2020 USB, I upgraded about a year later to the XLR version. I think the upgrade was worth every cent.

You should invest in an XLR microphone in my opinion.

      • hi no one seems to have stock of the combined XLR/USB version. Whih XLR version did you buy?

        • I bought the at2020 XLR version, It was about a year ago now though.

Nice thing about usb is that you don't need an audio interface - but don't expect really good quality. Recording guitar or anything with a fair bit of treble and bass going on concurrently you will see pretty big improvements with a good interface. Native Instruments audio interfaces seems pretty well priced.
Remember Rode is a great Australian company that produces great microphones, and you can often get them at good prices.
