Sunbeam Digital Slow Cooker - HP5590 - $49 - Target - RRP $99.95

120

Hi,

I was going through the junk mail and found that Target are having a massive home sale. One of the bargains that caught my attention was this Sunbeam Digital Slow Cooker. Look online and the best price I could find was $69. Bought one from Target in Highpoint and there were at least 15 left.

This is a good deal. Myer had an offer for a 5L slow cooker over a year ago, but it was the manual version. Ever since then, I haven't found a deal which matched that (cheapest was $60). This particular model is the one with timer and is usually $15 more.

In the end, I purchased this particular one from Good Guys for $70 I think, but luckily, it was during the free JO pasta machine promo.

Edit: I am only referring to Sunbeam since I was adamant on purchasing this brand after hearing good reviews.

Is it backwards compatible with analog food?

I bought this over the weekend. I initially went to Myer so they can price match. They refused because it was "well below cost price", so I got it from Target instead.

  • I have one of these, bought a while back after haggling for $69, so money wise this is a deal. Big proviso… I don't know if other brands differ, but the fumes that come off the black painted base when on High are appalling and just don't seem to go away. Unless you plan on using it directly under a running rangehood or exhaust fan, I would avoid or use only on Low setting. Maybe others could warn of fume problems that don't diminish with certain electronic gadgets and kitchen appliances. The very worst I've ever encountered were an old (20years ago) portable Samsung tv and a much more recently purchased Aldi toasted sandwich maker. I personally will never risk buying another Aldi kitchen product again - not one that plugs in anyway.

  • We only have a crappy country target in our town otherwise I would buy one of these my parent use theirs all the time and think it's great.
