[eBook] The Attaché Guide to Travel: Volume 1 - £1 (~A $1.97, Was £11) @ Attaché

90

First post so please be gentle.

To generate some income and make it easier for people that are struggling financially, Attaché (my favourite YouTube travel channel) announced in their recent Q&A video that the PDF copy of their travel guide has been heavily discounted. The first of four planned volumes, the book is dedicated to Asia and Oceania.

It looks like the physical book is also on sale (down to £10 from £17) but unfortunately it's sold out at the moment.

From the website:

"Inside you'll find guides to:

• Mumbai • Bangkok • Kuala Lumpur • Singapore • Beijing • Hong Kong • Shanghai • Seoul • Tokyo • Manila • Jakarta • Guangzhou • Delhi • Osaka • Melbourne • Sydney • Auckland • Taipei • Kolkata • Shenzhen • Ho Chi Minh City

We've researched and curated all the essential information you need to experience these cities on your own terms. Things like:
• how to use the local transport system
• how to pay for things
• tips on tipping
• language essentials
• must-eat food items and where to find them
• local etiquette and customs
• tips and tricks unique to each city
• and tons more…

All this is presented alongside stunning photography curated especially for the Attaché Guide to Travel."

Although this might not be the optimal time to pick up a travel book, maybe it'll come in handy if you're planning a getaway once things open up again. I also thoroughly recommend checking out Attaché on YouTube, their videos are always fun, informative and really well-produced.

No worries! I've been going back through their all videos over the last few weeks. It's a bit sad what with everywhere in shutdown mode at the moment but it's a great reminder that there's loads to look forward to once everything (hopefully and eventually) gets back to the way it was.

    Attaché on YouTube I liked.

  • The book is very basic.

If you're familiar with their YouTube channel that's definitely the style they're going for. They cover the basic info you might find in traditional travel shows/books but bring a bit of the local knowledge you get from something like Anthony Bourdain's shows/books.

I think their content would be particularly useful for those who travel frequently for business or who are visiting one or more big cities recreationally. I recently did a trip which focused mainly on big European cities. Attaché's content was really handy both in advance and when travelling to get a basic understanding and some suggestions about many of the places we visited.

You'll definitely want to look to other sources for more in-depth info or if you're venturing beyond major cities.
