I was looking at getting some Vitamin D3 7000. I usually buy these from CW - https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/84325/ostevit-d-vita…

But seems to be no stock in my local CW.

These seems to be a good deal and can be free delivered on an order of $49 with Prime.

Any more information if they are\aren't suitable in Aus would be good if anybody can share.

    I have ordered https://www.amazon.com.au/Bluebonnet-Earth-Sweet-Liquid-Vita…

Note it is 5000IU per dose (vs your 7000) and double the cost but it is said to have 900 doses (drops) vs 60 tabs?

My issue is getting kids to take it so have found the taste of the one I mentioned is like orange rind/peel and the kids love it; no more whinging about the drops I used to give them.

I personally take these ….Doctor's Best, Vitamin D3 (5,000 IU) 720 Softgels $35.94 at iherb with 12.5% cashback as well. 360 capsules is $19.88.

Delivery is free over $95, otherwise it is $6.50 delivery

Seconding this. Also, 7000IU once a week is too low. Get your levels checked in winter, OP. I used to take 5000IU/day and after 1 year of that my levels were right in the middle of the optimal range.

I live in Brisbane and was spending alteast 30 mins in the sun walking around, but these ones do make a difference to me. I am dark skinned and I take 10,000 IU/day. Had to up it from 1000 IU/day from the ostellin ones as they were doing nothing to me!

My partner and I switched from Ostelin 7000 weekly to these about a month ago and both are feeling fine. We haven't had our levels tested yet, but after researching the Life Extension brand it looked legit enough for us to switch and save money after buying a triple pack at a fraction of the cost of Ostelin.

  • This sale in Australia is bending the law, this is pharmacy only medicine and somewhat restricted.

Plus it is expensive, you could buy a cheaper 400 pack of 1000iu for less money which has a similar dose of D3. Just take more than one and space it out during the day.

  • I take these High Potency Vitamin D3, 10,000 IU, 100 Softgels AU $7.92 + shipping. Must take vitamin K2 with vitamin D which deposits calcium into arteries (forming plaque) and muscle cells. Vitamin K2 takes calcium from where it's not needed and puts it back into teeth and bones.

Can't you just save money and go out in the sun?

    • What sun? and we're going into winter.

      • Winters coming?!?!

Maybe works for some. I am dark skinned and live in Brissy, even with spending 30-60 minutes out in the sun everyday doesnt help me. I have been taking these for a year and notice a considerable difference.

what a waste of money for individuals without vitamin D deficiency…
this can be bad for you in high levels…some studies have suggested an increase risk of many things including cancer, to kidney and heart problems…

So unless a doctor has prescribed this stuff… do not take it.. you DONT need it unless you have been diagnosed by a doctor..

Sad you get down voted. But the vitamin shills are a crazy bunch.

I used to take 5000IU pills daily because the science indicated at the time they helped with bone density and muscle building.

But the science is progressing, and now several long term studies (including Cochrane reviews, the Lancet, and Harvard medical) have shown taking vitamin D does not assist in increasing bone density, lessening bone injury or even calcium deposits in long term users.

And amazingly taking over 10,000IU long term (36 months+) appears to reduce bone density by around 3.6% on average.

As you said the only real reason to take them is if you've been diagnosed with a need by a doctor or have particularly dark skin and live far away from the equator.

  • TLDR - if you take a lot of vitamin D, check your local Coles as the Coles brand Vitamin D3 1000IU 90s were on clearance for $2.69 at my local (ACT). Unsure if nationwide but worth a look as it's cheapest I've ever bought vitamin D for.

I usually take 4000IU a day, 4x1000IU of either the Swisse or Bioglan brands(whatever is cheapest per unit at the time I am close to running out - usually the Swisse 250 or 400 pack from Priceline or chemist warehouse (chemist warehouse pricematch is too much hassle so I just buy from whoever is cheapest) or the Bioglan 90 pack from Discount Drug Store (I have got them for 60% off before so cheaper than the bigger Swisse packs).

Last Thursday I was in my local Coles and saw they have the Coles brand vitamins on clearance. They had vitamin D3 1000IU 90 packs for $2.69, expiry was mid 2021. I bought all 8 bottles they had left.
