Need a pair (or two) of formal shoes

will start a new job from next month. need some more formal shirts and shoes. as to shirt, thanks to ozb, i already ordered three shirts off HC for a litle more than 100aud. i am thinking of a suit, but not in hurry, leave it for later.

now, i do need another pair of formal shoes. i admit i really hate those boring and ugly looking (most of them, imo) shoes, but i have to wear them in the office M to F everyweek.

anyone can share some experience, where we can buy these kind of shoes at better prices? i mean anyone can give a list of the quality/price/brand comparison, just like someone did in the HC shirts post?

my feet are small, i found all the formal ones on ASOS start from size 7, while i need size 6(UK size, 7for US)

thanks.

They go on sale sometimes too and are further discounted

    • are the quality and styles really good?

      • I bought some from there last week. The styles are good, they seem to have hundreds of different types the issue is finding some in your size. They dont have all styles for all sizes so that can be frustrating. Also noticed on Friday they have a 50% off certain shoes until (I think) today.

  • try DFO, they have some dedicated shoe shops there and you might be able to get a good deal on the old stock shoes. I got mine at Windsor Smith for around $60 and leather quality( and I quote my Dad on this is) pure 100% sturdy leather.

I'd second Windsor Smiths, I have a pair and they're great quality; lasted me two years and still going strong. Try DFO or even Myer if you're in a rush.

Also, I highly recommend getting two pairs so you can alternate each day - this is good because if gives your shoes a chance to "dry out" from the moisture (sweat) in your feet and is easier on the leather.
