Xbox Child Account Cannot Connect Online in Star Wars Battlefront 2

I have a Game Pass Ultimate account and our kids are set up as child accounts. We have two Xboxs and if they want to play separately, one of our kids typically uses the Xbox assigned as the home Xbox (so no need to sign into my account) and another kid will sign in as me on the other Xbox, then will switch to their profile. Normally they both can play games that are under my account (digital, Game Pass, GWG, EA Access) and both can normally play the same game together online.

They recently installed Star Wars Battlefront 2 from Game Pass however only one child can connect online. The other receives a 524 error, similar to the screenshot posted here

From a bit of Googling, it looks like the error is related to an underage account. However, our eldest (who is 9) can connect online in SWBF2 with no issues.

In addition, when trying to sign in at help.ea.com using the child Xbox Live account that doesn't work in SWBF2, this error shows. Signing into EA using my account (or our child's account that works online in SWBF2) works fine without the error.

I've opened a case with EA but thought I'd see if anyone had any quick fixes here.

Thanks

EDIT: It was an underage account that was causing the issues. I had to contact EA and have it upgraded to an adult account.

  • Didn't someone post up about an Xbox or PS4 having issues with this on another EA game, and it was to do with the modem settings…?

    • Link?

      • I tried a quick search but sorry low on patience right now!

Ta, after a bit more testing and research, I'm pretty sure that it is not connecting due to the Xbox account being connected to an underage EA account. One of our child's Xbox accounts (the one that is working) seems to be connected to an adult EA account.
