bent shaft, no good, shell out a few more shekels and get a straight shaft, professionals will only use straight shaft. more reliable, better for your back, more power, more accuracy.

yep, got to always think about the shaft.

      • It’s a given

I have a bent shaft and it works great. The missus seems happy enough with the outcome.

        • Happy wife = Happy life

    • bent shaft, no good

      that's why it's discounted…

    • I prefer a bent shaft, maybe because I'm taller, it seems easier to angle without leaning forward while cutting the grass.

      • depends i guess, you may get away with it for home use but if it's a complicated lawn such as on a slope or hill, around trees or other obstacles, it's hard to brush cut level with a bent shaft. also it's easier to point straight down doing edges with a straight shaft obviously and straight shafts are less mechanically complicated than bent shafts so less likely to break down. of course there will be a few people that like bent shafts but commonly if we are tackling many types of lawns we want a straight shaft. this is just from someone who has worked in the trade a lot but if you can get away with it on your lawn and you like it no problems.

    • I have a bent shaft Makita for the past 8 years. Been working fine since. Only changed spark plug now n then.

      • changed a spark plug….. WELL LOOK HERE AT MR TECHO AND HIS MAINTANENCE.

  • Bent or straight. It depends on one's preference but in the end, both shafts does the job. Much like purified or tap water or, Ford or Holden, etc.

  • I had one of these found it too heavy..but it was a good device until it snapped the drive shaft.
