Is it to do with warranty/fault support or app support?
Fault and app support. I wasted 6-8 weeks trying to figure out the gimbal with their (non-english) app and keep posting on their fb page/group which I never had a reply from them until I sold it out for the fraction of the cost I spent. Never again will fell on these bunch of paid youtubers promoting the product.
Are you sure you got the right app? I have a different model but they all use the same app called ZY Play. It's English.
Think carefully about whether you need something like this.
I bought one and used it only a handful of times before realising it was too much hassle for regular use.
Ive owned it for a few months, customer support is OK i reached out through to their Facebook page via messaging, and was getting decent communication, i was looking for replace one of the locking mechanisms as i dropped the gimbal and one of the locks broke and was looking for a replacement
i did buy it from a 3rd party seller, however i would definitely jump on it through amazon prime
Once its balanced its set and forget, i bought a couple of these 'Neewer DC-38Q Screw Knob Clamp Quick Release Plate+Metal PU-50 Universal'
from amazon, and replaced all clamps on my tripods with these so i can unclamp super easy from tripod, handheld, gimbal, super quick and easy
even if you replace the lens add attachments, and forget to balance the motors are strong and it is still super stable
you just may burn through your batteries if you dont balance since the motors will work super hard to keep it level
but grab a few extra 18650 lithium batteries and another super cool advantage,
hardly a hassle, but admitily it was before i got those quick clamps and replaced them instead of the manfrotto ones
how much weight can it hold? My normal setup is 5D MKIV with the 24-70mm f2.8 L II, I've only tried the DJI ronin but its a bit expensive. The description says it can but this gimbal looks alot lighterweight than the ronin and the ronin was just barely supporting it.
It can hold up to 2.9kg. Your setup is totally fine.
Canon 5DMKIV = 890g
Canon 24-70mm f2.8 L II = 805g
Total = 1.6kg only
According to TEDS (https://www.teds.com.au/zhiyun-tech-weebill-lab-3-axis-gimba…) the limit is 3kg (slightly lower than the 3.2kg specified for the Crane 2) but I was surprised that Zhiyun lists the 5D MKIV as compatible with this gimbal (albeit, probably sans-battery grip).
Much prefer the Ronin sc or original ronin
I would stay away from the brand. Customer service never existed. Most instructions online are not english.
