Mushrooms and coffee go well togethor :) ☕🍄

      • Teaspoon of Lion's Mane please!

        • I had a unicorn warrior espresso this morning ;) Lions mane, Cordyceps Sinensis, Cordyceps Militaris, Turkeytail, Reisha, Chaga, Tremella, Maitake, Shitake and a little bit of Shilajeet!

Lots of important minerals, nutrition and immune support!

          • @mannabeans: Good god, is that a premix poweder or teaspoon of each? Sounds more like a thick smoothie if the latter

            • @simgue: I premixed the different mushrooms togethor and added about a teaspoon total along with about a pea sized shilajeet resin. Sorry I should also correct my statement, it wasn't a standard espresso, it was an aeropress shot which was pretty big (half a cup) lol

Important to make sure our bodies have enough minerals and amino acids etc through healthy natural diet etc! Also, mushrooms are high in vitamin D whilst we're stuck indoors!

Some useful Australian based companies that I've been buying organic mushrooms, pine pollen, shilajeet and herbs from just in case anyone is interested:

              www.australherbs.com.au
              www.herbalconnection.com.au
              www.thegrove.life

              • @mannabeans: Great list! I'll add Terra Madre in Northcote to that also. Have a heap of good organic powders.

If I hadn't just bought a kilo of crack, I would be checking this out.

How often do you do deals like this?

Edit - to clarify, Crack is a coffee blend from my favourite roaster in Perth.

    • Same here. If they just did this offer all the time, they'd get current business plus more. Otherwise when no offer, we shop elsewhere and they lose business to competitors because there is only so much coffee australia can drink.

      • +2

I've found although the deals have an expiry date, if you find the last deal on OzBargain and follow the link the deal is still there and able to be ordered successfully. Worked for me once or twice anyway.

        • +1

Yes we'll always honour the price, just may have to send slightly differemt coffees depending on what is being roasted at the time.
You can always send funds through Paypal to [email protected] and leave notes as well if the link has expired.

@ Grimario Thanks for clearing that up! Deals like this are here for you anytime you want!

      • I will check back in 2-3 weeks and get myself some beans then!

  • Is the empty bags 250 gr option means you will just send empty bags? or you will pack the coffee beans in 250gr bags?

    • From my experience a while ago, they just send empty bags, no repacking of the coffee order

      • +1

Thanks :) Yes this is correct, we include new 250g valved bags with the order for people to break the coffee down as they wish

  • Do you still have the 2x 470g deal for $35?

    • That's on the page as well with what appears a flat $6.95 shipping.

    • Thanks, yes it is available as an option on the same webpage :)

  • +1

Just purchased. Great coffee - Magical Unicorn is my fave.

    • Awesome!, thanks for feedback. I'm drinkng one as we speak! 🦄🦄

  • Oh, no!!! right after I got 2x950gr from the last deal.

  • Rep, do you recommend these for espresso drinkers?

    • Yes these will perform well for espresso :)

  • How would you guys recommend that I store these? there's only 2 of us at home and we go through about half a kilo a month?

    • +2

In that case probably better to only get the 1kg option rather than the 2kg option unless you were intending to stock up. Generally they are freshest for first month or so and after this will decline until similar to what you would find on a supermarket shelf. If people are storing longer than a month then you could look at the freezing option. Some people report that they are very happy with this method but it comes down to individual preference.

For first month or so best stored in the valved bags they come in, in a cool dark place like a cupboard :)

      • Ordered! Thanks

Just a quick copy and paste from one of my reply in another thread about freezing beans and hoping it helps:

Freezing beans is a somewhat controversial/much debated topic amongst coffee enthusiasts and I guess there hasn't been a definitive answer. A more common consensus nowadays is freezing does work provided you can ensure they are in a vacuum container prior to freezing + the freezer is set cold enough. You also want to freeze in batches so you aren't constantly defrosting the beans. What you never want to do is just throw your bag of coffee in the freezer and pull it in and out daily to make a coffee or two. This will definitely ruin the beans.

I find for myself freezing does work and have experimented freezing beans at 7/14/21days past roast dates to see if much flavour gets lost. Note, I always vacuum pack my beans in 500g batches prior to freezing which is a little extreme but ensures beans won't get wet from moisture.

James Hoffman (Former WBC Champion and coffee expert) recently discussed this on his YouTube channel and gives a pretty good explanation of how to do it properly.

      https://youtu.be/5uT5_IWWb00

Worth a watch if you are interested. Actually, all his content is very well worth a watch for anyone with a passion for coffee.

Give it a go! Hopefully this helps! Also, if you can get through the beans in 2/3weeks then keeping them in the dark in a cupboard as mentioned by Manna rep is completely fine and you don't have to go through the hassle of vacuum packing and freezing!

      • So it's fine if I just put 3 of these 470g bags in the freezer straight when I get them still in their sealed packaging and use once I finish the first bag?

      • Thanks for the info. Will get them and try freeze the extra kilo!

  • Hi sorry if this has been asked before, but when are these roasted? Thanks.

    • +4

All fresh roasted to order :) Roasting as we speak!

        :)
        Thankyou….ordered.

        Can't wait to try these.

Highly recommend both the quality of the beans and the excellent customer service by the team at Manna Beans!
Bought from them many times before and they've always been a pleasure to deal with.

    • Thanks soulspawn, very kind of you to pass on the feedback and glad that people are enjoying the coffee deals

  • +1

Perfect timing for this deal, running low!

  • Would you recommend these for cold drip?

    • +1

They would be nice but to be honest if you want the best result from a cold drip then you would benefit more from a light roast.

Light roast would preserve the acidity and more delicate flavours that you would want to cut through a longer black coffee.

All standard website listings can be custom roasted and I can roast any coffee perfectly for cold drip for you.
This deal is more suited to mik and espresso as they are more of a medium roast. Still great for black coffee but for filter and cold drip then light roast would excel more

      • Ok thankyou for that info

  • -4

Aldi coffee is the best deal imo. Anyone got anything that rivals it for the same/similar price?

    • +3

All taste is personal, but for any poor sucker seeing another "Aldi coffee is the best" comment and falling for it like I did, IT TASTES LIKE WATERED DOWN ASS HOLES. But again I echo, all taste is personal. k. :)

      • Is the Aldi coffee therefore better or worse than full strength a-holes?

Back on topic…. Manna Beans still our go to, great service and the Magical Unicorn blend contains no less than 10% real ground unicorn horn.

        • +1

🦄🦄🦄 Thanks highground, you can borrow our unicorn to ride around Ozbargains anytime you want! 🦄🦄🦄

      • Never tried ass holes, but will ask for the watered down variety next time ;)

      • -1

Not what I asked for. Coffee that's better for the same price.

      • I bought a kilo of the Columbian from Aldi based on the recommendations from OzB. We had to throw most of it out. Never again.

        • Actually I think the Columbian one is trash too. The mild one for me is decent. What do you use now?

  • How do you compare this with Bay Beans?

  • +1

Ah crap!! I just bought beans from a secondary supplier. If anyone is wondering if these beans are good or not, I find them to be excellent. I have ordered numerous times and have never been let down. Customer service, quality, and speed of delivery are all highly commendable. :)

    • Thanks crammed 💗💙💚💛💜

  • Can't wait to get these, thanks for the deal!

    • Most welcome, hope you enjoy!!

  • Can you grind the coffee suitable for pour over in this order?

  • +1

Anything in the $10-$15 a kilo range? This seems pretty steep for coffee.

    • +1

Coles, Woolworths or ALDI brand is all you will get in that price range.

Anything fresh roasted and decent quality will cost considerably more. This price for nearly 2kg is pretty spectacular tbh.

    • I've been spending $50-60 per kg. Have I been paying too much for coffee?

      • +1

Just try the Aldi beans. For the price, that can't be beat in my opinion.

      • @ Leeroy Jenkins, Depends what the coffees are but not necessarily. Generally speaking these sort of coffees would sell for between $40 and $50 per kg full price. Maybe $60 on some others etc.

We've been keeping these prices for our regulars for some time now and will continue to stay at this price for as long as we possible can :)
We will only increase pricing if we really have to but definitely not for the next few months anyway!

      • "I've been spending $80-$160 per bottle of wine. Have I been paying too much?"

        Yes, the answer is yes.

    • +1

@canAdeladian No sorry, that's about what we pay for green beans(which loses about 15-20% weight during roasting)
Our coffees are all traceable from smaller ethical farmers and specialty grade 84 points upwards :)

      • So they compare well with what I can get at Costco for $20-$25 per kilo then?

  • I still have close to 0.5kg of beans at home but given the price, I'll give this a go and get the 1kg offer.

EDIT: Last time I bought 1kg of beans from 3000 Thieves, and they shipped me beans that were over a month old. I really don't recommend them thieves.

    • +1

Lol, well welcome aboard! These are all super fresh, maybe too fresh as we are currently roasting and shipping straight every day ;) they will get better after having degassed for a few days anyway.

  • What do you guys use for grinding beans?

    • Breville Grinder Pro - works well.

  • Ordered - just about to finish up my five senses coffee

    • Thanks, hope you enjoy!

  • +1

Best quality and freshest beans around. I usually drop into the store in Brisbane once a month for the wifey and grab a 500gm bag, but will have to order online. Thanks for offering a quality product at good prices!

  • Reviews seem quite positive but ~$30 a Kg is a bit steep for me

    • +2

Sorry to hear that! Shipping is really a bit of a barrier to us being able to offer any cheaper. After taking off shipping it works out about $22 per kg :)

  • I always support Manna Beans and Two Cracks Coffee (rarely has any deal anymore)

    1st: TCC (WA) and 2nd: Manna B

    • Thanks nicholastyc 👍👍

      • I am a bit bias on the rank. Got to support my local roaster.

        • Haha, that's nice! It's great that you are supporting your local roaster and small businesses like us! Thanks very much 😁

  • Organic? Rainforest Alliance?

    • Most of our coffees are organically grown but not all are certified as such. We work directly with the famers and focus more on relationship and ensuring that it's all ethically grown and fully transparent :)

We do stock some certified organic coffees but technically we are not supposed to advertise as certified organic unless registering under the corporate/global organic model ourselves.

In many cases is not beneficial and even counter productive to the farmers to become an organically certified farm and the entry and ongoing costs for a lot of the small famers are unviable.

Similarly with coffees like decaf we only source naturally processed coffees using the swiss mountain water method and never the chemically processesed coffees

  • Just Purchased! Great timing as I was running out from one of your previous deals!

Can vouch for Manna Beans, great quality coffee at a great price!

    • Thanks 👍👍

  • Are these beans roasted specifically for espresso? Are there any blends more suited for pourover coffee?

    • These will be fantastic for milk and espresso and although they will hold their own for long black etc, if you want the best result from a filter then you would benefit more from a light roast.

      • Thanks, this is super helpful. I'll have a look for lightroasts on your website then.

Are there any that you recommend?

  • Any idea of roaste date on the bag of these bean?

    • All fresh roasted to order! Roasting on a daily basis :)

  • Why are these 470g and not 500g?

    • Great question - never been asked before 😂
Nah, seriously… its Aus Post restrictions that prevent package to exceed 2000g even by 1g inclusive of the smaller bags with one way valve, bubble wrap/packaging satchel etc. Rather than pay extra for postage they reduce bag size 20-30g 👍

  • How are these roasted? I drink filter so looking for light/medium-light but I didn't see a way to leave a note on the checkout page.

    • These are roasted more medium to medium dark depending on what profile we feel best suits the individual bean
We can custom roast coffees for filter for you when purchased through the standard website pricing.

These are roasted to perform well all round but especially good for milk and espresso. For filter and long black drinkers, although good fresh coffee, a lighter roast will deliver a better result when held to specialty judging standards

      • Thanks for the reply :)

Do you ever do deals like this on light roasts?

  • -1

Hey Mannabean , I m in Sydney , if you are shipping from brissy the coffee will be a week old already. How long stays fresh ?
With borders closed can trucks enter nsw?
Is your 4 pack deal selection good for flat whites?

  • +1

Do I need to change the grind setting on each different bean?

I've got a Breville Dual Boiler and Smart Grinder if that makes a difference.

    • Generally speakign yes different coffee beans often require fine tuning grinder.
That being said, the most dramatic differences in grinding settings I find are caused by bean size and the roast degree

2 of these coffees, the Colombians and blends are using similar sized beans (screen size 16-17) so should be pretty similar and
may not meed much if any adjustment

The Magical Unicorn may need a tiny bit as it uses a bit of a smaller Brazilian (perhaps a tiny adjustment coarser)
The Brazilian single origin coffee is a smaller bean and would probably need to be adjusted to be a little more coarse

I aim for a 20-30 second extraction if using a n esspresso machine or usually make my coffee with an Aeropress which is a lot more forgiving :)

      Hope this helps 😁

      • Thanks good to know.

  • Great deal, order placed on Thursday. What is the estimate delivery timeframe? Thanks

  • Great deal. Bought some but didn’t get a confirmation email only the PayPal notification? When are they due to arrive?

    • Hi budgetgaming, Mrlai2

      Thanks for trying our coffee!
Just a bit of info for everyone:
We are working as quickly possible to roast, pack and dispatch all of the coffee but there is an unusually high quantity to roast this time round.
We will make sure all the tracking details are updated this week once we get all the orders dispatched.

We appreciate your patience and ask for everyone to allow a few extra days grace due to the demand and also
the shipping company logistics. We are roasting daily so all coffee is fresh when it leaves

I do know that the couriers and Aus Post that we have been receiving here can take a bit longer because of the current
CV situation but there is no hard fast rule.

Some things we get in a day and some a week. It's very difficult to say as the situation is constantly changing and I imagine
that different areas may have different experiences.

      Thanks for your understanding

      Simon, Flora and Cindy

  • Want to grab decaf - last time they were too quick to send it out. :(

Any chance, I can get a kg of decaf as part of the deal? Happy to pay an additional fee.

Think last time you said an extra $5 for the 500g (to replace the lucky dip). So would that ben an extra $10?

Would like a kg of decaf though, if that is possible (maybe swap out the Colombian?)

Love your coffee, need to switch to decaf though.

    Thanks

  • Does anyone who has a smart grinder know what grind setting you should use? Don't want to waste too much coffee setting it up.
