Please consider gifting a pair to your favourite frontline healthcare provider so that they don't walk germs into their house from their work shoes. The US Crocs site is giving some away each day for this reason.
these arent too useful for healthcare because of the holes on the top, safety issues for falling sharps and pathogens falling directly on to our feet :/
No, they have special (exxy) closed in ones specifically for work (example: https://www.crocsaustralia.com.au/p/womens-neria-pro-ii-clog… - which are easy to wipe down too). The normal (holey) clog ones in the giveaway are so that staff can change into them (in the car or garage) so they don't walk their work shoes into the house.

No, but having laypeople who are safely isolated at home actively thinking of the HCWs who are out there on the battlefield (at all hours of day and night) and acknowledging that the HCWs still have real lives (i.e. families) away from work is a new concept to many. It's the gesture of support in a time of crisis that matters (noting that some HCWs have been spat upon, kicked out of their rentals, been denied childcare, been verbally abused at the supermarket etc on top of the stress of working in a high-risk environment).
