Deal Notes:

In case you're unfamiliar with Amino Z, we're a supplement manufacturer/retailer. And now we're making hand sanitiser in our facility (who'd have guessed). All the obvious reasons why with the gyms being closed.

We are again doing this completely in-house. There's no importing of product and everything is local (ingredients, labour and packaging). Frankly we're just making basic, no-frills hand sanitiser. This is the TGA COVID-19 formulation.

Here's the rundown:

  • It's in an ugly plastic jerry container (We found these after literally days of hunting down containers)
  • I personally created the sticker in Photoshop (Hence why no-frills as this represents the extent of my graphics design skills. As a side note, I am still very jealous of the artwork skills of some of the distilleries.)
  • It's 80% ethyl alcohol (ethanol) with distilled water and propylene glycol (1.45% v/v) and hydrogen peroxide (0.125% v/v). This has been updated as per the TGA guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic here. This is a slightly viscous liquid formula and is not a gel.
  • It's 100% Australian: We make it in Sydney. Ingredients are all Australian sourced. The bottles are manufactured in Victoria. The labels are printed in Queensland.

The deal is $19.95 each (that's for 1 Litre). Order 4 or more and get free shipping, otherwise shipping is $9.99 Australia Wide (or you can pickup for free).

Plus you'll get $5 back as store-credit per unit. It will be credited to your email once the order ships out and can be used as a discount on any future purchase. Perhaps some added motivation to get back to the gym when they reopen? :)

As compared to when we initially launched the deal on April 14th, our cost prices have gone up as I've had to scramble to find more ingredients. However since there will be a slightly longer lead time than last time, I figure it's only fair to keep the deal identical. Plus the previous experience was terrible for some people who spent hours trying to purchase, I cannot in good faith increase this price for all of those who missed out. Instead the only change is that we're accepting credit card (MC/VISA/AMEX) payment directly (using eWay) as to avoid the higher fees of other payment processors (ie. cut out the middle man so we can still make this feasible).

I am aware there have been a number of hand sanitiser deals on Ozbargain lately. I'm hoping that this represents good value given the costs of the components we had to source. Happy to answer any questions!

  • any tips from anyone on best combination to get an order through? I've tried both paypal and credit card (for the past 1hr) with zero success. It keeps timing out.

    • Generally CC has had better luck. Perhaps try a little later, but we are seeing plenty of orders going through at the moment. I'm very sorry for the experience though, we really did not expect this level of response.

  • is this suitable for general cleaning? glass, bench top etc

    • I can't say I'm an expert in cleaning. It does contain hydrogen peroxide and proplyene glycol which may affect some surfaces and this has been formulated by the TGA as a skin product. I hope this helps.

    Now that orders are going through, maybe change status of the bargain to Out of Stock once the limit is reached, to save on processing further orders and the hassle of refunds etc. Also, it will reduce load on your server for people purchasing your other items.

    Just a suggestion.

    My order went through. Received the email. Thanks. Only issue is that it is showing blank in shipping information and in the Grand Total on Invoice i cannot see Shipping Cost, but when i paid it was showing the shipping cost added to the total. Would you be able to check it?

      • Newborns have essentially no immune system so before visitors touch our baby they will need to wash their hands or use a hand sanitiser.

        Even without COVID happening if i went in to the office or met friends in a park everyone would need to be using it.

    Finally a sanitiser deal thats is not price gouging. Ethanol is not rocket science. Considering your e10 petrol is $1 a litre now you literally buy 1 liter of ethanol and 9 liters petrol for $10.

    • WA shipping times are delayed now with both our carriers (Auspost and Fastway). From the date of dispatch (1-2 weeks), expect at least a 5 day delivery time period.ETA's are in checkout.

    Thanks OP, took two attempts but managed to place an order via Afterpay.

    You are one of only two suppliers (that I know of) who’s formula includes 80% ethanol. The other being Manly Spirits, but they’ve sold out.

    Other distillery’s I’ve looked at include less than 80% ethanol in their formulation.

    Kudos on listening to feedback and upping the percentage of alcohol.

      I had the same issue. It never applied the $10 for the referre for me when I tried it.

      Google says 2-3 years after manufacture date. Mostly due to the alcohol evaporating reducing its content/effectiveness.

      Hopefully the bottle is sealed well.

      For me it was around two minutes, after having close the tab/browser and re-doing the process.

      Try clicking on different payment types, that might also speed up the loading.

    Finally managed to purchase 4. However no free shipping eventhough I added the promo code. Charged me $103.97.

    • Just ordered 4, went to view cart, enter code, apply, says $79.80 then check out.
      I checked out before (haven't paid yet) and I entered code below where it says "enter code at cart" then I realized I put it in the comment section not in the cart.
      Paid by Paypal no issues, no delay everything was sweet =D

    • When you added the code, it should’ve also said free shipping on the same page, next to the discount amount and the button to continue.

      You should’ve seen the free shipping confirmation “before” you move to the page where you enter your shipping and payment details and pay.

      Just an FYI to avoid any confusion, all of these are on backorder because we haven't yet bottled up the product. We're estimating to get through all of them within 1-2 weeks and will commence production at the end of this week.

        Might also want to update the product sticker before printing with the new formula to say 80% alcohol instead of the original 70/75%.
