Hi all. I have a NUC6i5SYH that I’m looking to connect to my Sony TV and am trying to get full 4K output. My understanding is the only way to do this is via the mini displayport output into HDMI2.0.
Would this cable do the job? Any other suggestions? Passive vs active etc? Will this also carry audio?

4K 60hz can only be achieved through the mini display port.

HDMI will only be 30Hz and it's definitely noticeable.

You do see it but it's more obvious for mouse movement etc.
4K@60Hz uses 12.54Gbit/s, outside of that adapter's specs.
Bit misleading for the description to state 4K/60hz if that is the case.

I learned this the hard way- wasted time on several dongles.
From my experience, despite what descriptions say, I could not get 60hz @ 1440p (let alone 4k) out of any adapters that went from HDMI /to USB-C.
All look terrible at 30hz.
Only one that worked was a direct USB-C to mini-display port.

Excuse my ignorance, but does your Sony TV have a USB-C input? Otherwise, why would this help?
Yes apologies it does not have USB-C so back to the drawing board but in summary I need an active cable which is HDMI 2.0 comparable and specifically lists 4K@60Hz 12.54Gbit/s.

@gidxg03: But why do you want an adapter/dongle and not a direct mini dp to hdmi cable? I think that is what ycon was inferring. A dongle just adds an additional connection points that could fail (ie 4 connection points vs 2).

@John Kimble: That’s a good question and one I should have probably clarified in my original post. My TV is set within a false wall with HDMI cables pre installed so it would be a pain to install a new cable.
Why can't you use the hdmi port?
