  • What are the ratings for SuppKings? Legit for in-stock products? Faithful in shipping orders?

    • who cares? i wouldn't support a store ripping of people.

Arent all the prices like these, these days?

  • Shipping appears to be $5.95 to anywhere in Australia (I checked VIC, SA, and WA).

    • It seems that theres 15% off $50+ free shipping. If you want tracking that would be $5.95.

      • +2

In that case, add this can of drink for $3.95 to an order of 2x 500ml hand sanitisers @ $24.95 ea and it'll end up costing $45.77 delivered with free shipping.

The option to pay an extra $5.95 for tracking over the free shipping option seems strange given that all parcels sent via Australia Post have a tracking number these days.

FYI for anyone who is keen, I've just made my own for less than $20/ litre following the WHO recipie for 80% ethanol sanitiser.
These guys have stock of ethanol:
    https://www.ethanolfireplacefuel.com.au/buy-fuel-online.

(I hit up ebay for the rest of the ingredients)

(Be safe if you try it- ethanol and its fumes are highly flammable)

Be safe if you try it- ethanol and its fumes are highly flammable enjoyable

      FTFY.

    • Here's the link to the complete WHO guide for anyone interested:

      https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/Guide_to_Local_Production.pdf

As I said, be safe- last thing hospitals need right now is people hurting themselves.
      :)

    • I wonder why ethanol is that expensive when you could get e85 petrol (85% ethanol) for $1.5.

I have absolutely no clue how hard it would be to extract it, and it sorta also begs the question whether or not that could be used as a hand sanitiser(not that you would).

Price gouging. Metho is basically pure ethanol and was or still is (when you can get it) just a few bucks a litre. $20 for 4 litres at SCA, Aldi was selling 1l for $4. 1 little is enough to make 1.5l of hand sanitizer, $2.66/l of sanitizer + anything you want to add (aloe or glycerine).

        • yeah, like toilet paper shortage ……they put ethanol in some petrol blends as it’s cheaper than petroleum which is about $1.50 litre, , and the price of petrol / ethanol blend hasn’t gone up, so there can’t be a shortage of ethanol, more hoarding and price gouging for ethanol via the retail supply chain rather than wholesale supply which has locked in contracts.

        • Noooo methanol and ethanol are chemically different. The name literally describes the chemical difference. Especially for drinking… One will give you a good time, the other will kill you.

          • @Nadder: Metholated spirits are almost all ethanol based in Australia not methanol based. The name is mostly a historical hangover, though different countries have different amounts.

            https://diggersaustralia.com.au/safety-data-sheets/

Diggers brand is >=95% ethanol and the rest is water.

I still would not drink it.

            • @CookieJacker31: Ahh I thought you were talking about methanol, not the product methylated spirits.

      • If you think that's expensive, check out the price of 5L of isopropyl alcohol from the same place selling that ethanol.

        • Its not so much about price gouging.

They are mixing ethanol to fuel and selling it for way less. Why not just sell straight ethanol

      • E85 has gone up to $1.7/L apparently…

The TGP (wholesale price) of E10 is more than 91 in some cities as well…

    • $75 for 5L. wow

This same company was selling 20L for $70 a month ago.

This isn't a deal. Anyone who pays this much for sanitiser is being absolutely ripped off.

    • outside of stores and factories needing a waterless sanitizer , i would have thought people in lockdown would be using soap at home and just washing hands …. and woolies and coles still at times have liquid soap e.g bought $2.50 for 250ml palmolive liquid soap in dispenser yesterday ….and if you are really strapped use dishwashing detergent to wash hands ……

3 months ago supermarkets barely wasted shelf space on sanitizer as people probably don’t use it at home, people use soap and water at home and they stocked shelves with liquid soap.

    This isn't a bargain

  • +3

Price is a total rip-off! Companies looking to cash-in during these adverse times needs to stop price gouging!

  • +2

Paid $8 at Woolies yesterday for 500ml.
This is not a bargain. Even if stock is hard to find.

    • That's incredible cheap. Care sharing the receipt

  • -2

    It is $27.95 here: https://www.aspmedical.com.au/product/hand-sanitizer/

    So technically a deal.

  • surely this is a rip-off .. how can price gouging be an ozbargain?

  • +1

Here we go again posting price gouging as deals come on..

With most people staying at home.

    All you need is soap.

    • All you need is soap.

    Rip-off

  • Price gouging in state of emergency is not a bargain. Got 5L for around $80 from local distillery.

    • current shortage of home stills from suppliers also, especially small 5l air stills, …..wouldn’t surprise me if people are making their own ethanol for hand sanitizer ….
anybody who did year 11 or 12 chemistry would have done fractional distillation of alcohol, or at least we did at school.

      • Yep. And most of those who didn't could probably follow procedure from a chemistry textbook. It isn't that difficult if you have the gear

  • $50/litre for hand sanitizer? Get out of here with that rubbish. I wouldn’t pay $50\l for straight Isopropyl…

Stocks was not ready to go. They stall and delay shipment again.
