    • i seen that.. toilet tissue prices.. very high

      • $0.67 a roll?

        • +1

          before lockdown… i bought them for $14

      • The toilet paper is 4 ply which is more expensive. I don't buy it but thought some might need it.

    • These are the luxury 4-ply ones. I managed to get a pack of regular Quilton double-length rolls before they sold out.

  • Does it kill COVID?

There is no evidence to suggest anything aside from alcohol of 60% purity or higher is effective.

Antibacterials almost certainly do not help with Coronavirus

      • +1

So why do they tell us to wash hands or sanitize with hand sanitizer???

        • +2

Sanitiser is 60% or more alcohol (usually)

And yes, soap working is implied. Soap works on everything.

        • they tell you to wash your hands with soap to wash away the virus from your hands.. soap causes a layer between the virus and the surface of your hands and the water washes it off your hands.. sanitiser on the other hand, i'm not too convinced that alcohol based sanitisers kill the virus. some say they do if they're above 60/70% (dependant on the type of alcohol) and if left on your hands for a certain amount of time.

          • @itsmehuey: "Some"?

It is the World Health Organisation that says 60% ethanol based/70% isopropyl based sanitizers, scrubbing for 20 seconds kills the virus.

Where has your doubt come from?

      • You’re basing this on what exactly?

      • +2

Umm soap? Soap arguably deactivates viruses better than pretty much any alcohol based disinfectants out there.

      • There is no evidence to suggest anything aside from alcohol of 60% purity or higher is effective.

This is not entirely true. I've had great success using me welding torch from the workshop to get rid of the virus.

so much trolling going on every time cleaning products are posted recently.

this product has an active ingredient of Benzalkonium Chloride 0.095% W/W

        https://www.tga.gov.au/appropriate-use-disinfectants-informa…

COVID-19 is an enveloped virus, which means it has an outer membrane. Enveloped viruses are relatively easy to kill compared to non-enveloped viruses, as the outer layer is easily damaged by most environmental disinfectants, provided the disinfectant is used in accordance with label directions. Disinfectants containing ≥ 70% alcohol, quaternary ammonium compounds (such as benzalkonium chloride) or diluted household bleach (including products containing sodium hypochlorite) are suitable for use.

Please quote a suitable source for your information about why only +60% alcohol solutions are useful?

    • Based on current evidence, Benzalkonium Chloride is less effective than alcohol at killing coronaviruses.

  • How about if we inhale alcohol?

  • I pause for 2 sec, then its gone…

    • same, cannot pause while on ozbargain

  • Damn this is ozbargained too..

Just remember with the spray, to kill viruses as per the packaging, you need to spray and leave it for 10 minutes. Depending on the surface type, this could actually damage the surface of whatever you're spraying it on, so read carefully before using.

This doesn't kill the COVID-19 virus at all. It's not alcohol based. It's benzalkonium chloride based. It kills bacteria, not viruses.

      • I dont see anywhere in my post where I said that it kills COVID-19. But you're right, the packaging says it kills "germs", not viruses.

        • "To kill viruses, as per the packaging". You literally said it, word for word. It kills zero viruses, not just COVID-19.

          • @BradH13: Each virus is different, just because a product may kill done viruses, doesn't mean it will kill all of them, especially new ones that the product was not designed for. So my comment stands, that no where did I mention covid-19.

            • +1

@Trishool: It kills NO viruses. It's like talking in circles here. Zero, nada, zilch.

              • @BradH13: The feelings mutual. So do me a favour and stop taking.

Can I made this with algaecide?
