If anyone was late to the party and wanted to grab a physical copy of Animal Crossing, most Big W stores have restocked, I just cancelled my preorders at JB HiFi and The Gamesmen and click and click and collected my copy at Highpoint. Stock just showed up at Queen Victoria Village shortly after I collected my copy from Highpoint so I'm assuming other stores have received stock and are currently putting it into their inventory.

Not the best price but considering stock shortages and resellers, this is a pretty decent deal if you wanted to get your hands on the game right now instead of waiting for a preorder. Other retailers have preorder ETAs of 17/04 at the earliest.

    DEATH TO BUNNY DAY

  • Have they actually restocked? I thought Highpoint had stock a few days ago when I checked. But it was too far.

    • I believe they have restocked, I've been monitoring a couple of Retailers for stock for the past week, just got an alert this morning for Big W Highpoint!

      • Sweet. Hopefully drops near me. Thanks.

  • Wow this game is really selling out every single new pre-order they do!
My gamesmen pre-order shipped today, they had another round of pre-orders for stock coming tomorrow and bigW delivery pre-orders are for the 20th.

You can actually download from eshop

I understand that but some people would prefer to have a physical copy.

      Not for $69, though.

      • +8

Yeap and it's also $10 more expensive from the eShop

        • Not if you use a game voucher, obviously though that's forcing you to buy 2.

          • @sss333: And if you have a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.

          • @sss333: Game voucher?

              • @awaiko: Thanks for the link! Sorry to bother, but do you know if you can give one voucher away (or use one to buy someone a gift, perhaps)?

@Diji: @Diji Sadly not. As much as I like Nintendo’s hardware and games, their online and eshop functionality is awful.

                  • @awaiko: Aw that sucks, would've been nice to split with a friend. Thanks for the info though!

Well it does save the effort and cost of going to get the retail copy and the chance of a) contracting coronavirus and b) being fined for non essential travel.

          Also digital is handy.

          • @[Deactivated]: If it's non-essential travel, why are retailers still open at all?

            • @Faro: I guess a washing machine might be deemed essential if a families current one was to kick the bucket, same with a phone, a modem etc

Not so much Animal Crossing 😆 I'm not a fan of the series.

@[Deactivated]: My washer broke down last week, just went online and brought replacement, delivered/installed/old one was taken away next day and was presently surprised to find out there was a $75 rebate on it . No real need to go out imho since I even get my groceries delivered now (Lobsters from Harris Farms!!). The perfect hermit life!

For anyone interested, I was going to buy the BEKO front load washer from the JBHIFI link here a few days ago but found a Hoover frontloader one at appliancesonline for same price $550 but with $75 rebate and 5 years warranty (same as Beko). Not going to lie, I was looking for something ASAP and cheap.

No resale value on eShop. Throwing money away.

  • NOW….I need a Console….

Got it - having trouble getting into it. All I'm doing is picking fruit and selling it with the occasional catching fish and fossils. lol. not exactly riveting stuff.

    • make your house look nice

Animal Crossing is really a game you will love or you will not get at all.
You have to be really into collecting all the items and hunting for that "last piece" that will make your house perfect.
If that kind of thing doesn't appeal to you then it's not worth playing.

    • And that's it, I played the 3DS game and after getting into it for a few days I realised it was a chore simulator and quickly grew bored, as did my kids. They've asked for it for switch and I'm usually a pushover but I'm not buying it this time.

    • I can't stand the game but the wife is massively addicted and started to neglect real life for it. The game only appeals to consumers since you just do "jobs" to keep updating your house and clothes.

    • It's literally made for toddlers dude what did you expect

      • Damn. No internet points yet for your classic joke. Shame. It was a good one, too.

    • Which island did you pick? Apparently the one with the most water takes a long time to get going.

  • It looks like the delivery date for this order is now also 17-20th April.

  • Lovely game… Have been a good waiting fof it for a while… Waiting for Amazon to stock in and price match

  • I got it for $68 last week from Amazon. So addictive!!!!! Definitely recommend if you're stuck inside…

      • +1
