Soodox Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser 60ml $3.65 + Delivery @ Superpharmacy

1975

An Update

Hey,

Been seeing a lot of feedback about the cost and even comments claiming price gouging. I totally understand where those comments are coming from. From my perspective ozBargain has probably never been a more important tool for everyday Aussies to use, as we all learn to deal with the new situation in front of us. Most of us have either lost our job or lost hours. I get it.

I just really wanted to highlight that whilst this may not be a ripper deal we can all benefit from, like the price war between retailers of the Sony earbuds, I still thought it important to share so that you guys also have equal access to sanitiser at a fair price. I'm sure you have seen, same as us, some of the extremely inflated prices of sanitiser & other items around recently.

It may have been better to lead with our 200ml sanitiser at $10.95, but hey too late now, and as I mentioned in a reply below - if one person on here who didn't have access to sanitiser buys from us and starts using it, it's a successful post in my eyes.

I really appreciate you guys, and the incredibly smart community that exists here. My wallet maybe not so much. But I hope that you understand this was never about trying to rip anyone of or make a killing. To be honest we've had more than enough orders in the last few weeks, I almost welcome a break at this point.

Thanks for your passion

__

Hey everyone,

It truly has been an incredibly crazy time recently - and we've been busier than ever. Some of you may have already experienced how inundated with orders we have been over the last few weeks.

I just wanted to let you all know that as we have been receiving stock of hand sanitiser, we have been trying to prioritise supply for the most at risk members of our community. We did however just receive in a larger supply of hand sanitiser, so we are happy to now be able to offer it again on our website for all Aussies.

Please understand that following our same belief in getting these to as many people as possible, there is a limit of just 1 per person. Any attempts to circumvent that will have their extra orders refunded.

We also have a 200ml size available on the site if needed.

It is Australian made and 70% alcohol in a gel solution

_

Whilst I'm here, we have been placing a huge focus on effectively managing our stock levels as we entered this unprecedented time.

At this time, all of our usual pharmacy items are available.

If you have been running into issues getting items or medications from your local pharmacy, let me know and I can have a look for you or at least update you on that item.

Any questions at all - I'm happy to keep checking in and helping when I can :)

why not go to sydneytools and prebook online…. $15 for half litre and $99 free shipping.

This is not OzAderviseExpensiveSanitizer, this is not close to a bargain price/

I love it when people misspell their "clever" comments.

Profiteering under the guise of altruism

    • +5

      Hey DrC,

Profiteering is the act of making or seek to make an excessive or unfair profit, especially illegally.

We don't even make a profit looking at shipping cost vs cost of posting items around Aus.

Again, couldn't be further from the truth. I hope you reconsider your stance

    • +2

Profiteering under the guise of altruism

Four-syllable word usage under the guise of understanding them.

      • -2

Did just fine in my English and medical degrees. By all means, keep on contributing during this crisis with your trash talking.

        • +2

I'd be keeping quiet about that English degree as your misuse of 'profiteering' above demonstrates language isn't your forté.

But by all means, keep on contributing with more condescending nonsense.

  • +4

Seems reasonable to me, thanks OP.

    Purchased 60ml & 200ml for $19.55 delivered, thanks OP.

  • +4

    Hey everyone,

I just posted an update up top in the main deal. I'd love for you to give it a read. Just wanted to let you know you're being heard and I understand, even if I disagree with some of the feedback.

    Thanks

  • +3

Thank you OP for posting, I have managed to order the larger bottle to be sent directly to my elderly parents who have not had access to any for quite some time. To me this is a good deal as the only ones I have seen available anywhere have been larger quantities (and therefore price) and liquid rather than gel.

    • +2

Exactly what makes this worth it - I am so glad to hear. If you need anything else delivered to them please let us know and we will do everything we can to organise that. We've been telling all of our elderly customers to stay home and we will deliver to them

    • Just curious, isn’t gel better than liquid? Because liquid evaporates faster?

      • Yeah I generally recommend gel for use on the hands as it's way easier to manage - but liquid better than nothing, and washing hands properly is better than all else.

  • +2

Thanks OP. First time in a while I've been able to get some sanitiser before its gone. While not necessarily a crazy bargain, it's reasonably priced. The post was of help to finally get some sanitiser, greatly appreciated.

  • +2

Thanks OP, I made the order $100, so got free shipping.

  • +4

Don't get the hate. I dont have a hand sanitiser and had always missed out before. So thanks for the deal OP

Now if you have this back jn stock too..

  • +4

thanks OP, to all who'd been complaining, i think it is a very reasonable price of the sanitizer itself as well as the postage. I've just placed an order. Hopefully will be arriving soon, my hand sanitizer is running out.
worth noting : 1) It is Australian made and, 2) 70% alcohol in a gel solution

  • +4

Seems fine to me. If you dont like it dont buy it. Some people do need it and its not as if theyre going to profit on delivery of product.

    • +1

yea it's true, my nature of work requires me sanitizing my hands many times a day therefore i think all worth it.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Bought the 200mL. Front page has clearly proven that regular price on an extremely hard to find item is considered bargain status (whether people like it or not). So you made the right decision posting. I don’t believe all the hate.

  • +3

Too many SJW. Good luck sending a package in Aus for $4.95.

Added some other reasonably priced and difficult to find these days items for free shipping. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Thanks OP got a 60mL and 200mL bottle, hard to find around my area

  • +7

I've never been disappointed in Ozbargain… But the comments in this thread are pretty low in my opinion.

Thanks OP, I got a bottle of each and it is appreciated, will be used by my parter and I and my elderly parents.

I've never been disappointed in Ozbargain… But the comments in this thread are pretty low in my opinion.

Completely agree. The boneheads are stampeding and wouldn't recognise an actual 'gouge if it poked their eyes out.

  • +5

I don't understand the reason for the negative comments on this post, price is very reasonable.
I've used Superpharmacy plenty of times in the past, always fast shipping & good service. Thanks for the post OP.

      Buzz off

  • There are too many people in this world. We need a new plague.

    • +1

You won't be sayingt that if it was a friend, family, relative or loved one. We need to take every precaution avaible and stay at home for the sake of those people. A clap to the medical workers, not just the doctors and nurses. Anyone working in hospitals the cleaners and the staff that are in contact with the infected.

  • +1

Agree its not a bargain - but its not gouging either and the fact they have stock is a surprise.

  • +5

    Thanks OP. Got the 60ml + 200ml.

Don't listen to the haters. I've never seen hand sanitisers in stores, and your pricing is very reasonable.

  • +1

OK it's nearly midnight so I reckon we can start all over again. Throw in some comments about Hyundai air-conditioners and you can keep me entertained for the whole day tomorrow.

  • +1

Thanks Op. I needed some, haven't come across any, most sold out on the net, eBay is a rip… Worthy of being posted on ozbargain in my opinion.

  • -1

So guys.. um, I want to know what actually matters, which isn't the 1$ price difference.

Does this mean it's 70% post mixing, or is it a mix using 70% alcohol?

I've had issues finding any IPA 99% at less than 5 times the normal price; but I see rubbing alcohol (aka 70%) in stock in plenty of places. The way this was worded sounds more like it was mixed with it. Soodox website doesn't really help much either.

So does this mean the final concentration of alcohol would be much lower than the recommended 60%+?

With regulations being relaxed, lack of morals in plenty of business owners, and everyone and their mother trying to cash in on the few things highly in demand (don't get me wrong, I'm one of them.. trying to make a product, that is) I'd just like some info that this is a proper brand going forward.

Maybe ironic but I actually feel safer buying hand sanitizer from distilleries exactly because of the alcohol shortage and difficulty in sourcing ethanol…

    • +2

I think you can trust a pharmaceutical company that is stocked at all the major pharmacies over any distillery made product doing it for the first time.

The Soodox website is very clear. Contains 70% alcohol. Kills 99.99% of germs and bacteria. An Australian company can't make a claim like that and get away with it.

I'd go for it if you need some. That's why I didn't hesitate, about as legitimate as they come.

  • +2

This is definitely a good deal say the moment. fair pricing at this time is considered a deal. wonder why people Jack up their price.

    better deal for 10.95 + 4.95 for the 200ml.

  • +1

Thanks OP, bonus that you are delivering antihistamine which a few others are not doing at the moment.

  • Thanks! Ordered the 200ml for home use and the 60ml to have in the car.

    • Came to say the same thing, thanks OP.

  • +2

The usual pitchforks are out whenever someone posts a hand sanitiser deal I see

  • +5

Jesus Christ there's some whingy cheap (profanity) on this site.

  • +5

My goodness, the guy is just trying to provide something that's sold out on all the shelves and the price is reasonable.

    • +2

yep, it's a small bottle and you can refill and carry with you, so a large part of the cost is the bottle, not the contents, so not targetted at people looking for 500ml or 1L bottles of sanitizer.
I's not meant to compete with $ per litre where the cost of the bottle is insignificant based on volume.

About the same price I would have thought as those small detol bottles at the supermarket when in stock "remember your routine, gives your hands a clean clean clean"

  • +7

I don't understand why people argue about the cost per litre. It's like a small bottle of coke in the fridge at Coles being the same price as a big bottle on the shelf. If a commodity is available at regular price when demand is a lot higher than usual, it wouldn't be considered a "bargain" but damn, at least we can get some at the "normal" price. Give ozSuperpharmacy a break.

  • 0ut of stock

  • +2

Good solid deal right here, nice work OP. Some of the commenters need to wind their necks in IMO, the OZB community (I would hope) is better than some of the attitudes on display in this thread.

  • I see my order was shipped out mid-afternoon - nice and quick, much better than waiting until the end of next month as in other "deals"!

  • +4

If you’re not Amazon expect to receive downvotes for non sale items. I like the deal, thank you

  • Order was shipped quickly, received today and very well packaged. Thanks!

  • Got it today, and damn it is pungent.

  • I ordered the 200ml the night of posting this deal last week, and according to the email "Good News, its been packed and is on its way", but tracking hasnt changed since Thursday of last week, and the tracking status according to Aus Post means it hasnt left the sender despite saying it should have been here yesterday.

No stock is one thing but sending misleading emails is irresponsible, whats the go SuperPharmacy?

How do I tag the rep? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/272616

    • Hey Tuba,

That "it's on its way" email comes from our internal system as soon as it leaves our warehouse, and everything after that mirrors Auspost tracking updates. I know we've been seeing a lot of delays with Auspost, and that they aren't always scanning the labels now, which means we don't get any insight into tracking until it's delivered. Super frustrating.

Let me reach out to you via pm for your details and I can try to get a more up to date insight into where it's at.

      • Its odd mate, I checked APs tracking around 10am this morning and there was no change from last night, still no info changes since Thursday 9th Apr. But now there is a change, its now saying it was last processed at a Qld facility at 1am this morning, so its clearly left you guys.

When I asked Aus Post about the status message Friday morning they told me it means the item is still with the sender but thats only likely if you send from Qld.

But Ill relax now, Im guessing Ill see it Monday, 3 weeks from now LOL. AusPost must be using a camel.

        • Yeah honestly it's been so hit or miss recently. Some delivered earlier than expected and some taking way longer. I even personally have another delivery with a different company that was meant to be delivered on the 8th. Still waiting and same situation, no changes to tracking status but I know it's left the store.

If you run into any issues chasing up your parcel let me know and I can get onto them as well.

          • @ozSuperpharmacy: Cheers for that.

Testing times… Im cool with slower delivery etc but it doesnt explain their inability to update tracking. Its in Qld, its passed at least one or two facilities in NSW to get there.

            • @Tuba: Arrived today, thanks…

Trying to work out the smell,, maybe it reminds me of a Pez or other lolly flavour that no one likes. Chemical grape or something. And the bottle is nothing like the picture, its round, with a flip lid… no pump.

          • @ozSuperpharmacy: I'm. The same boat. I ordered on the 8th and it still hasn't arrived. Only one piece of tracking advice since it was shipped. Was supposed to arrive on the 17th.

            • +1

@Captain Snooze: Hey, can you please PM me your details so I can look into this further for you

  • Order placed on 8 Apr, still “shipping information approved from Australia Post”? Looks like I am not the only one have not received the products.

    • Hey there, please send me a PM with your details and I will look into it right now

      • Received today. Thanks anyway.
