  • I'm no wine snob but $50 for 12 bottles of wine (+ delivery) - i'm sure they'll taste rank

    • Surprisingly you can pick up some very good cheap wines; what bothers me about this deal is that the vendor is very coy about delivery costs.

      • Hi, hope we have been able to answer your question below. Thank you!

AusPost have a setup specifically for wine/spirits/etc bottles - $12 a case from memory. There's no way I can find of getting a shipping price without needing to add it to the cart and register to purchase. I can't see any reason why you can't just give an up front shipping price, or more likely just say $61 delivered, so I'm calling "dodgy" on this for now and giving it a miss.

  • Hi Everyone,

Here are the delivery charges and we will update the website as well.

    Metro Delivery

$12 Delivery (Sydney, Melbourne & Canberra)
    $14 Delivery (Brisbane)
    $16 = Delivery (Hobart)
    $26 Delivery (Adelaide & Perth)

For country, please contact ikOala for costing.

    Hope this helps everyone…

    Thank you!

  • I'd rather buy a cask of cleanskin.

    • cask - honestly?

  • +1

Total price is $61-$75 delivered, so actually $5.08-$6.25 per bottle delivered.

You can get De Bortoli Sacred Hill Shiraz Cab dozen delivered from Dan Murphy for $54 virtually anywhere ($4.50/bottle), and De Bortoli is an actual brand I've heard of.

    No bargain here.

    • Thanks for your feedback, it all does come down to personal taste and looks as though you'll drink wine from a cask so this deal may not be suitable for you. These are bottle wines and were to be shipped to China as a PREMIUM WINE export - not a cask of cheap wine.

      • I'm not sure you understand what a cask is.

Your assurances that it's shipped to China as a PREMIUM WINE export isn't exactly encouraging. Australia is known worldwide for it's bulk wine, not it's PREMIUM WINE. A no-brand export to China isn't exactly confidence inspiring for quality.

        • How can you judge what you have not tried?

        • I can't. That's the point. This is the point I'm making. You're just now realising what the point is. All I have is a bulk buy salesman's word that it's PREMIUM WINE. There are no independent reviews I can find, and I've never heard of the brand before.

I've heard of De Bortoli before, and if I want I can buy a single bottle first to sample before buying a full dozen.

  • See, I have not heard of De Bortoli (which looks like you are trying to promote this product - below the line) however would try it out if it was a good deal or special offer - no judging here. I would be humoured though if you tried this wine (Aussie Vines) and actually liked it… POINT IS you will NEVER KNOW until you TRY IT - stop judging our offer and stop making assumptions and judgements - for $50+ Delivery for 12 bottles if I didn't like the first one well then there 11 Christmas presents out of the way or 11 extra bottle for sharing…… they might actually like it … again, no JUDGING anything until it has been tried and tested.

Are you serious? You think I'm a De Bortoli rep? Dude. Here's a little test for you. Google "De Bortoli". Now google "Aussie Vines". Do you see the difference? I'll give you a clue: 1.5 million hits and an official web page versus 6,270 hits, no official page, and only bargain-websites listing it. Next time you're in any bottle shop with more than one shelf of red wine I guarantee you'll find something from De Bortoli. It even has it's own wiki page:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Bortoli_Wines
That says "De Bortoli Wines is one of the larger privately owned companies in Australia." - Note, not larger privately owned wine producers - companies.

It is also listed in the wiki article for "Australia's First Families of Wine": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia%E2%80%99s_First_Famil…

Your ignorance of one of the largest Aussie wine producers doesn't exactly give me confidence that you'd know what a PREMIUM WINE is.

The simple fact here is we have no idea what quality this wine is. None. Assuming it's PREMIUM QUALITY 'cause some guy on the internet selling it who doesn't know one of the biggest wine producers in Australia says so would be an act of extreme stupidity.

Could the wine be a find? Sure. Could it taste like engine grease? Equally plausible. A crap shoot for quality is not a bargain.

    • Not heard of De Bortoli? Have a look at http://www.debortoli.com.au/about-us.html and all will be revealed.

  • Ha ha. Stupid salesmen.
