Budget Friendly 65 Inch Smart TV

What’s the best deal going on a decent 65 inch smart TV.
Don’t watch a lot of tv so doesn’t have to be high end but I’m guessing it will need to have a decent picture not to look like crap at that size?
Seems like Boxing Day sales had quite a few Samsung’s/lg/Sony’s for under $1000 but can’t seem to find any decent deals atm (due to corona virus?)
Thanks In advance

This is even cheaper but not as good as the Eko

This isn't bad for $899. Add $75 for Delivery though as click and collect not an option for Myer at present. JBhifi, TGG and HN have it for $998=5, but I'm sure you could bargain them down towards $900. I've got 2 Hisense TV's in the house. I think they are great value for money TV's.

Check a few Aldi's. I recently picked up a Bauhn 75" TV for $799, down from $999, just last week.
Picture is excellent. Blows the cheap TV I had before out of the water, which I really wasn't expecting at all.

That's a great buy for a 75"! How did you transport it?

Need to beg/borrow or steal a trailer. Its so big that a 6x4 just barely fits it in.

The fact that its so big though is what makes selling it quite hard, as I don't think aldi delivers. So there's a good chance that other stores still have stock.

        • Definitely would be keen if I knew of any stores in
Vic that had stock. Damb I wish Aldi had a way to check stock levels online

          • @brodie707: Hahaha yeah me too. Wonder if two people could walk it home from the local ALDI… would be pretty funny :P

    • How's the smart tv tech on it?

I wanna get rid of using my xbox on my dumb tv. Just use netflix/Disney and fta tv in mine

Don't have netflix, so I can't really say, but to me it appears to be at that standard cheap tv level of quality, where things work but aren't as straightforward as you'd like them to be. Its workable though.

Me, I'd rather pay the 70 odd dollars for a standalone device if I was going down that route.

  • I'm also looking at approx $1000 mark. I think prices will come down a bit, at least for older stock bought at pre decimated AUD rates…

Keeping an eye on the Hisense 65R8, which has been about $1200 best price before. New 2020 models due soon, so hopefully some half decent clear outs.

  • Anyone know of any good deals for a budget friendly 50 to 55inch tv?

  • After working with tvs everyday I'll be making sure it turns on straight away rather than a minute to boot up.
