That's great, hopefully they can ramp up to larger more economical sizes.

  • dam that sold out quick

At least 200ml for $8 is a lot better than $30 for 100ml and it ships in like 4 weeks.

It's not a great price, and I wouldn't buy it but it's better than the rest of the spam I've seen.

Comments like yours fail to recognise that prices fluctuate and that in times of particular shortage a price that would've been deemed ridiculous only weeks ago might suddenly seem reasonable. Now you might well be right that it's over-priced and not a bargain.

To be a bargain an item doesn't need to be discounted below RRP it just needs to be a good price in the current market. I really wish people would stop pretending otherwise.

  • had this in my online order for yesterday and it got deleted.

    • There stock levels are not as accurate as they say . they state the stock availability is updated every 2 hours which it's not, as my woolies just told me they had no stock and it sold out last night. It's still displaying as in stock

  • I just called 5 of my local stores which the website says have it in stock, and all confirmed that they DON’T have it and haven’t had any for weeks.

  • +2

They don't have it, they're probably using it internally

    • And if they need to claim it for staff because they wouldn’t be able to supply it to them otherwise, then all power to them tbh. (But maybe don’t chuck it on the website if there’s no/negligible stock.)

      • I think that's possible. They get 100 bottles in, sell 70, 30 go to staff, but their stock computers are automated, and are still counting 30 as in stock. I asked the guy if he can fix the database to reflect no stock at this particular woolworths. He says they have no access to it.

    No luck here in SA
Showed stock online but store says none
    Anybody actually get some?

  • Costco has them for $6, 2 limit per membership.

Can confirm the woolies in-stock is fake and not updated every 2hrs

    • Not in WA it isnt. I've even been doing Google searches on particular items to uncover hidden Woolies listings. (A direct search within Woolies website reveals no results however Google search seems to find it - bizarre!!)
Anyway I've then checked "availability" and gone to those stores and sure enough they have the items in stock. Booyah!
It's definitely not fake and it certainly hasnt wasted my time and petrol.

Well I was referring to the website stock list

Perhaps Google has access to their database lol

What do you exactly type in for the search?

        • +1

Yeh I think I know what you're saying. The websites accuracy can't be trusted 100%. That's for sure.
Plus if it says the item is in stock, it could sell out within minutes and by the time you get to the store its all gone. Can be quite frustrating. But its not fake, just not "real time" accurate. :)
So as for the Google search, for example if you search on Dettol 50ml it should show Woolies amongst the search results. Whereas if you search for "Dettol" in the Woolies website it only shows frozen veges, bread etc. LOL. So anyway if you click on that search result it shows you the item on Woolies website and you can then check for availability. e.g. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/307484/det…
I've used this method for the last 2 weeks and it works really well. I've tracked down numerous items that don't come up when searching from the Woolies website by doing a simple Google search instead. I've found sprays, wipes and now hand sanitisers (although hand sanitisers seem to be in abundance everywhere at the moment and prices are coming down).
          Woolies are selling : Balnea (50ml - $2), Dettol (200ml - $7.50; 50ml - $3.50; 50ml with green silicone clip - $4), Careline (200ml - $8 & 50ml - $3.50) and Palmolive (48ml - $3) <<< All of these items were on the shelves when I went in to various stores on Sunday.
          K-mart are selling : Dettol (50ml - $3) and Palmolive (48ml - $3)

Oh and the K-mart price on Dettol 50ml is a better bargain, 50c cheaper than Woolies. Didn't know about K-mart stock until Sun evening thus heading out Mon for some. :D

Good luck and happy hunting! ;)

In WA here are some of the stores that show its available as at 19/04/2020 :
SOR : Woolworths Riverton, Livingston and Byford
NOR : Woolworths Dianella, Morley, Balcatta, Subiaco, Mt Hawthorn and Murray St Perth.

I picked up a couple of bottles from Dianella today. They had heaps of them along with stacks of the 50ml bottles ($3.50).

Innaloo has the 50ml bottles but not many. They had heaps of Dettol 200ml ($7.50) and 50ml ($3.50) on Sunday morning. Along with Balnea 50ml ($2). But they were all sold out within 3 hours.
The really funny thing was that everyone including myself was looking at all the hand washes on the lower shelves and grabbing them, there were heaps of bottles. And then I just happened to glance up at the top shelf and was shocked to see sanitizers sitting there. I said "ohhh!!! They've finally got hand sanitizers in stock!!" …. all of a sudden people start putting back the hand washes and start grabbing the sanitizers. It was funny because none of us even noticed them. I guess everyone is too accustomed to not seeing any in stock so we didn't think to even look for them.
