    • +13

OMG….same here….they took so long to delivered..it has been 2 weeks…dont buy from MLN.

  • The website still says $184. How do I make an email order?

    • +1

Email the relevant brand and order/ask to reserve them.

    • +1

starts tomorrow 14th.. try email and say you will pickup tomorrow??

i bought this when it was released paid double this…

      • Thanks for the reply guys.

        strat,
Can you please share your thoughts about the picture quality of this monitor?

        • I got the model numbers mixed. Sorry i purchase the BX2450

Either way both are great monitors… have had no issues with mine… good thing about this model it's wall mountable.. as the BX2450 is not.

  • Bought one yesterday for $163

Ask for a refund. If already used, buy this one from MSY and then ask for a refund using the brand new monitor.

      • Can't be done. There is a small thing called the "serial number" which is unique to each unit.

        • Not to mention totally worth the hassle for $3.

      • +1

i think he trying to say this price isnt very special rather than mourn his loss

  • How this compare to the BX2450 from MLN?

  • +6

2 for $300, MSY. Take it or leave it (I know you will leave it).

Quite tempted but aarrrghh! They should've added a HDMI port - even if its for business use people still need HDMI :P

    • +1

you can always use a HDMI-DVI converter

      • I need more than 1 port & even if I got a switcher its still a pain

    • yea… i was hoping there was HDMI or even 1080pHD support…

actually im not sure if there is (not got with monitors) so… is there FullHD support??

      • Its full HD support, the only thing DVI doesn't do is carry audio input - although a majority of monitors don't have speakers anyway

HDMI is just more convenient and some say using a converter instead of a true input puts more strain on the eyes or things don't look as good as they should (negligible differences like reading text or slightly washed colours)

        • DVI can and does carry audio. A DVI-D to HDMI adapter will actually transmit audio if the source has the capability, like the two of my AMD graphics cards.

HDMI requires the manufacturer to pay royalties on the products, driving the prices higher which is usually why it's left out as most computers use DVI anyway. That's my view on it, anyway.

Anyone saying that a DVI to HDMI quality causes video/audio degradation is either an idiot or lying. The signal is 100% compatible with 0% quality loss.

I just wish everyone would start implementing DisplayPort…

  • In reality, its not that much cheaper:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-BX2440-24-inch-LED-LCDMon…

    $186 delivered cheapest on eBay.

    • +1

Cheaper is still cheaper :P $26 is a fair amount of difference if you can pick it up

      • Yeah as a % that's a very good saving - I think it's around 14% but my maths is dodgy.

  • Anyone know where to buy 2450? i use more for gaming. Also need hdm port

indepth review of this Samsung BX2440 monitor
    http://www.pcmonitors.org/monitor-reviews/samsung-bx2440

From what I have read this monitor is more suited for business use rather than gaming and video use.

    • We heard you the first time…

Still love the good-old 'How to Shop at MSY':

    http://ozsoapbox.com/melbourne/newbie-guide-how-to-shop-at-m…

    Some hilarious comments there :)

    • Haha, so true and so funny!

  • Cheapest I can find for Samsung BX2450 is $188 (including delivery) or $182 for pickup (charge $6 handling fees)from GreenIT.
Is it worth paying extra $30 odd bucks for 2450? Only thing I can see is the HDMI input option.

msy wellington road has heaps of these. i ended up getting a benq 24" for $150 because it was not 'wide screen' like the samsung and lg's are

  • can you let me know the model number of the benq 24" you got? I did not find a 24" benq in their website.

  • yeh the benq isnt on their price lists either, but its def in stock

    Its a BenQ GL2440

probably going to get some hardcore people bagging its specs, but it works and looks fine. plays games in 1920 x 1080 very nicely.

also just had a quick look on ebay, cheapest buy now price for it is $189 + $26 postage ! most expensive buy it now is $240 !!!

so for msy to have it for $150 is a real bargain

    • In what way is a 24" w/ 1920x1080 "not 'wide screen' like the samsung and lg's are"?

  • i was under the impression that if it was wide, the monitor was really thin and long, if that makes any sense…

    • Widescreen is purely the aspect ratio.

All three monitors are long and thin though. Their basic dimensions are basically identical from the front. Their thickness varies slightly. By millimeters.
