JB Hi-Fi + Macs = ?!?!?!

so I needed to reformat my thumb drive into guid and my Imac g5 wasn't handling it.

so I went to the JB near work where previously I had used utilities to format it.

this time I couldn't open applications as the macs were usage limited. I explained to the sales guy what I wanted to do and he said "oh, they don't allow that anymore due to viruses".

me - "riggghhhhttttt, ok."

granted this is just one guy at JB who said this but hey.

listens tentatively what happened next!? did you find someone who cares? did you race over to Dick Smith? did you have an apple store to help you format something into a guido?

It's a bit silly expecting them to just let you jump on and do whatever you want - the reaction might be different from person to person (they may not have known the admin rights) but apple computers do have viruses, as "rare" as it may be. Don't you have a friend that has a mac? They might sell apple stuff but they aren't the "touchy feely" apple store.

I don't see it as any different than someone asking for permission to format a usb drive on a windows computer there.

haha thats funny. I went to JB Hifi with my friend who wanted to get a laptop. The guy spent 10 minutes talking about apple and the stuff he said made me want to punch him in the face haha. Such bullshit! Needless to say we didnt get a mac (and never will haha) :D
